College Football *2015*

Lots of people counting their chickens before they hatch.
Lots of football left to play. Crazy things happen sometimes

USC's next coach:

That guy makes a fortune doing virtually nothing. Why would he jump into the dumpster fire that is USC football?

Sark fired.

Should I just accept it now that Whittingham will be the next coach of the Trojans?

:(

These aren't the MWC days...but it is USC. It may come down to this season and how the recruiting trail looks. Can he build the next powerhouse in Utah ala Chip Kelley in Oregon? If he stays he will definitely have more power from here on out. Hopefully, he stays and convinces Hill to expand RE to 50k.

A two or three loss Utah team that plays in a New Years Six or later bowl game would be bad news. He'd be a perfect candidate to be scooped up by a major program.

But a playoff appearance, would maybe make him want to stay. Especially if a raise and RE expansion is on the table.

IDK the dude or follow Ute's football, but he has been coaching at Utah for like 20 years. Why would we leave now just when Utah is starting to get good?

When USC comes calling do you say no? Maybe I'm crazy and it's not even an issue, but a huge paycheck and a historic program seems like it'd be pretty tempting.

Especially when there was a lot of talk about him leaving last offseason because of disagreements with the AD. He's the 40th highest paid coach in the league.

I think Whitt would leave a MWC Utah Utes but with us in the Pac 12 and looking like the class of the league I just don't see it....

C'mon bro. It's USC. Hill better be ready to give him a substantial raise if we want to have any chance of keeping him around.

Whitt will definitely be getting a raise at the end of the year.

Kyle has been with the Utes forever, turned down Tennessee back when Utah was in the Mtn West, is at a place where he can win a championship, and he wouldn't be the first coach to turn down the pressure of coaching at USC (Chris Petersen just a couple years ago for one).

I'm not an idiot, I know that USC is one of the top 5 jobs in college football, but I do not think that Kyle wants to deal with coaching there. The pressure at any of the Texas, USC, Bama, Notre Dame type jobs is insane. Entirely different level of annoyance from the media and fans at places like that.

If Utah gives him the appropriate raise, I don't think Whitt would want to leave and start somewhere else at this point in his career.
