Collin Cowherd's Rock Band Bracket

I think Foo Fighters are another blatant omission, their musical reach far extends beyond Living Colour or Creed (although i think that was a joke pick).

...The Eagles a 2 seed? C'mon man, I've had a rough day and I hate the ****ing Eagles.

****, now I'm running down the road trying to loosen my load, I got seven women on my mind. Four that wanna own me, two that wanna stone me and one says she's a friend of mine.... it's like this broken record and it's giving me a headache!

It think it shows to Cowherd's audience that Van Halen beat out Tool and The Allman Brothers beat out The White Stripes.

You probably fall in the aforementioned demographic

Maybe, but in terms of when the bands came out I'm somewhere in the middle (and I'm a hell of a lot closer to Jack White's age than Gregg Allman). And I don't think it's remotely close, the Allman Brothers are just miles above them in every imaginable way.

What's your proof?

Album sales???

Influence?
The White Stripes were trailblazers
Allman Brothers were Grateful Dead lite.

The Allman Brothers were the key influence of southern rock, a great genre of music. The White Stripes...I'm not sure what they influenced, but if it's today's rock that's an even bigger negative. But even more simply Duane Allman was just far more talented on guitar than Jack White could ever dream of being, and Gregg Allman is much better keyboardist than him.

I don't even get the Grateful Dead lite comment. If anything they were much heavier than the Dead.

I don't think The White Stripes' influence has had it's full impact yet, but it's definitely helped bands like The Black Keys find a bigger audience, and that's always a plus.

Jack White is an incredible all-around musician, and The White Stripes stand out more from the pack now than The Allman Brothers likely did in their day. Obviously it's hard for me to compare, The Allman Brothers were before my time. But then again the only southern rock that ever stood out for me was CCR.

Two songs from The White Stripes, just to show the range:
