So my daughter got this cheap *** mp3 player for her birthday. We've put a few songs directly from a CD on it. I've also tried to put songs from iTunes on it. The songs from the CD work, but whenever I try to put songs from iTunes on it, they don't play. They'll show up in the menu on my computer, but they don't play on the mp3 player. The only thing I've noticed is that the songs from the CD are in .wma form while the iTunes songs are in .m4p form. Is there a way to change that so I can put them on this cheesey mp3 player? If so, how? Please remember, I'm almost what would be called "computer retarded".
TIA

There are programs out there that will change file formats.
You should be able to change it from an .m4p to a .wma.
I just don't have a list of possible programs at the moment.
I'm sure some do gooder poster will give you a few good ideas in a few minutes.

If you bought the music through iTunes you may very well be screwed. They would control how often you **** and what you wipe with if they could figure out a way to digitize it. If you didn't buy from iTunest, you can convert the files to MP3. Often cheapo MP3 players will only recognize the very basic files, MP3 and WMA and nothing else.

You can use iTunes to convert them, I believe, by going to import preferences and selecting "Import as MP3" although I am not sure if that converts the file in a way that it can still be used outside of iTunes. Remember, iTunes is the devil, Hitler, and Bett Middler rolled into one, obnoxious, ugly, evil, and tyrannical.

There are also various free converters available on the internet. I do not do much conversion like this so I haven't played around in this sandbox much before, but I know that AVS audio converter will do the job, although I have the pay version so it might not work on the free. I recommend you do a search for "convert MP4 to MP3" and check out a few.

Here you go, I did a quick google and came up with this:

https://www.mp4tomp3converter.net/

Let us know how it works.
