i'm only being level 2 snippy here but can someone define "the left" for me as its being used in this thread? i have no clue who or what you people are specifically referring to

This is where the left goes wrong. If Palin embodies the worst of the other side, you should embrace the stupidity and ignorance. This incident emboldens her, it doesn't diminish her. The approach to her is simply leave her alone. The left fell right into the same playbook as always by trying to tie the shootings to her.

What happens and what is happening? The media rushes to judgement, Limbaugh calls them on it, plays clips, makes the left look like a bunch of reactionary political idiots and now Drudge runs the headlines he is running now.

Left loses again because they can't control their reactions and emotions. Mathews and the MSNBC crew are again scratching their heads wondering what the hell went wrong and now Limbaugh has a complete vault of info to go back to time and time again.

Both party's are too entrenched to see their own faults. It is human behavior. Of course there certainly enlightened Dems and Republicans that vote mostly on party lines that see the disconnect on certain positions. In my previous post I am analyzing from the left's view on Limbaugh. The left and media elite totally miss Limbaugh's strength. What does the average person who has never spent any time listening to Limbaugh think of him? They think he is a right wing nut job that rants, screams, and raves spewing right wing ideology. When you really listen and analyze intelligently, nothing is further from the truth. It is amazing how little right wing ideology he spouts. I would guess at least half of each show is dedicated to showing the stupidity of the other side.

This is why the left has failed to find an equivalent, because every attempt is to mimic what they think he does, now what he actually does.

Perhaps you were underthinking the nature of the complaint, looking at a surface of a surface, if you were equating calls for harsh treatment under the law to calls for going outside the law.

Funny, you say "Limbaugh", but it sure sounds like you meant to say "Buckley". At least, the sources I read concerning Limbaugh are much more concern with his reliance on untruths, simplistic thinking, and false characterizations. People dislike Limbaugh because he's Jon Stewart, except he expects to be taken seriously.
