Just thought of this.

If his agent know Boston and/or Suns will throw him money, maybe he wants to tempt the Jazz not to match ?

Eh I see that arguement but I don't think so. I just don't see him as that kind of guy.

Has he signed with Illuminati Jay-Z's agency and received his special powers from the devil yet?

u see the argument? srs?

Just because you can see why someone is making an argument does not mean you agree with it or even think it is anything more than foolish.

For example. I can see why people like you. World is full of idiots. Even here on JF.

No conspiracy going on...G-Time simply isn't as good as he was hyped up to be, nothing more, nothing less.

Why would he do that? All he is doing is hurting his own market if that's the case. Of course he is going to make more than he should in this next contract. We are talking about a guy who might have been able to make max from a dumb team if he was playing a lot better. I don't buy that he is playing bad just so Utah won't match. I think he wants all the money he can get and having Utah in the discussions helps him. Overall, he is just an inconsistent player. Always has been.

pretty much this.

why would you play like ***? he should be playing his *** off instead so he can get the max contract that he wants. The guy needs to come down to earth and realize where he stands.

Gordon's last 2 games have been really good. Even shot well from 3 last game. Lots of blocks in the previous game. Gordon definitely is not tanking--he just takes a while to warm up for the season.

Anyways, it's a very different situation. Almost every player who has been asked to go from the 2nd option to the first option struggles mightily for their first season with that mantle. In Gordon's case, he was asked to go from 3rd/4th/5th option to the #1 guy in one off season--that's a lot to do. Not to mention how he has been asked to playmake as well to help Trey adjust to the NBA. Even on nights when he hasn't been playmaking as much, (which is rare, considering Hayward leads the team in assists) he is still playing with a brand new PG who is still learning where his teammates like the ball. G-Time is the face on scouting reports now, and none of the other young guys have played a lot of minutes against starter caliber competition--adding even more pressure to Hayward. His veteran help in the starting unit is a washed up RJ, and Marvin Williams who has never been too much of anything to write home about. Gordon is going to struggle this year.

Gordon is going to struggle this year. He's got his FG% above 40 now, which is encouraging, but I expect him to struggle until the others stop struggling. Having a good shooting % has to do with getting good looks. If he has to create a lot of his own shots, or is shooting a lot of contested looks when the shot clock is running down because his teammates failed, he will continue to have poor percentages. When everyone else becomes a consistent threat, Gordon's percentages will rise. Gordon isn't a true #1 option, but I think he can be a legit #2 when the rest of the team finds their roles and we get our #1.

I wonder if this has to do with changing from the StarCraft mindset to the NBA mindset. Perhaps if he gave up one, he'd be full time better at the other?
