I like the jazz organization the management doesn't **** too much with the coaching decisions. Kind of a culture that was developed by jerry sloan and his legacy and lets hope that doesn't change.

Look at the dallas cowboys for example. (i know 2 different sports) but the top management has ****ed with the team waaaay to much practically making coaches powerless. I think that's the beef thibbs is going through. I think thibbs may be bailing on Chi anytime now.

as for corbin...I think if thibbs is available we might see him get canned for thibbs otherwise i would be shocked if they fire TY. Especially when the focus of the season was to rebuild, but now we are losing focus and might play out selves out of a future possible all star candidate... it sucks ***!

Wow.. if we can somehow get Thibbs to go with our young core of guys, I think we are definitely contenders in the West in a couple of years time.


I'm constantly surprised at how he was able to make that Bulls team relevant even without D.Rose ... that guy knows how to coach and he oozes R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
 
I don't want some celeb-coach like SVG or JVG or Karl who enjoy media spotlight and like to make themselves the story. Please no.

Hopefully an up and comer type

What about Lionel Hollins? What are your thoughts on him?

He's an old-school coach who likes big, physical teams and always had a very good defensive team. Not an analytics guy, but I don't think that he can't co-exist with Dennis Lindsey (who I consider a basketball guy 1st and a numbers guy 2nd.)

Hollins is a fine coach, but I think crediting him for the Gasol-Prince-Conley-Allen defense is a mistake. Also, he led the Grizz to a team high .621 last season vs. .632 under Jorgenson this year when Gasol was in. Considering this year's team is inferior to last year's -- Prince and Randolph have all but fallen off the cliff's edge -- I don't know if he's that needle mover everyone expects a coach to be.

This may be the opportunity Utah squandered back when they made Corbin permanent. One asset this organization has is a track record of letting the coach run the team and not letting the lunatics run the asylum. Sloan's long tenure and the FO drop kicking Deron Williams out of Utah bears this out. Any coach with a track record or not has to find this extremely attractive.

Having said that I don't think you have anything to worry about - at least with the names you mentioned.

Even without a top 3 pick I think it's a top destination this offseason. Solid, young GM and a roster of quality young players all looking reasonably well in a down year. Gotta think coaches will look at the roster and think that it's a solid start in the right direction.

True.... But add Parker, Wiggins or Embiid to our roster and freakin Red Auerbach will be bustin out the grave to coach our team!!!
