Corbin Rotations

Stifle Tower

Punch Bowl Re-Filler
As much as we got on Ty for the way he distributed mins. vs. Detroit, I think he did a pretty good job vs. Boston.

1. PF: Favors got 16 mins. I'd like to see him average 20+, but it's a start.
Millsap played 38. Cut Millsap down by 5 mins. and give that time to Derrick.

2. C: Jefferson was hot so he played 42 mins. Probably too much, but at least that kept Failson planted on the bench. He won't be around next season, so no reason to give him minutes. Corbin should be finding time for Fes, but maybe the FO has already decided not to offer him a contract for next season.

3. SF: Hayward played 21 mins. Only way the kid is going to develop is to play. 20 mins/per seems reasonable. Good job on this one, Corbin.

4. PG: Harris 34; Watson 14. Spot on.

5. Missing Guard: What can you do? Raja and CJ both suck (a combined 2-10). And behind them is Ronnie Price. @#%&*!

Yeah, I don't mind that distribution of playing time. But, I'm already wanting to see Favors in a starting role alongside Jefferson, with Millsap returning to his 6th man role. The Bench has been awful for 40 games, at least. He still gets starter minutes, and you can name him captain.... maybe that will make him feel better.

Also, start Hayward at the 2 and play him 25-30. Did anybody ever hear anything about why he got a DNP in Detroit? That was f'd up.

Yeah, good thing that Raja is still getting minutes so that he can be our stopper at the end of games. NOT!

Remember early in the year, way back when the Jazz were winning games? Remember the second unit and how well they played, how they often turned the games around? Earl, RP, CJ, Fes, and Felson? When did we last see them get 5 minutes together? And who was finishing games back then, CJ or Bell? CJ.

Favors and Big Al > Sap and Big Al. With Sap coming off the bench that gives up that spark we need, and it makes the starting line up
more balanced.

I think Evans should play the 3. He's quick enough, you can't deny that. He could wreak some havoc. He's also got a decent jumper.

Bench Bell and CJ. Neither one of them are the answer. Play the rooks -- Hayward at the 2 -- to find out whether they are or not. They need time to develop and to show their stuff.

I like what Harris is doing at the point. Williams didn't trust AK, but AK has one of the basketball IQs going. Harris seems to almost rely on him, which IMO is a very good thing.

This is what I hate about the NBA. Rarely any coach will play rookies over veterans even if the vets are sucking it up. See Raja. I'm sure Pierce's eyes just lit up last night when CJ got in the game. Anyone else see him post CJ up like 3 feet from the basket for an easy bucket? The thing that pissed me off the most, the camera goes to the Jazz bench for a timeout and everyone gets up except for CJ and he sits and pouts because he's not playing. Hey CJ, you're not playing because you suck. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get your **** figured out and start earning that paycheck "doo".

They said on 1320 yesterday that Hayward got a dnp against Pistons because Corbin thought he didn't match up against Stuckey. I still think he was partying with his mom and missed the team bus or something. But I like that Corbin will play match-ups and stick with a guy who is playing well rather than sticking rigidly to preset rotations.

Raja Bell truly peaked at his summer press conference. I like the guy but he is not a NBA player anylonger. I think the injuries and age finally took their toll. Hate to see a guy go out like that---reminds me of the Golden Griff. Sad.

This team is desperate for outside shooting, what does it say about CJ that he can't get more than 15 minutes. If hayward had any kind of consistant shot I think he'd be playing 35 minutes per night.

This team will look really look good when they get a sg/sf to shoot 3's.

My guess is we won't see Favors starting because he doesn't "know the system" yet.

He doesn't look in good enough shape to play a ton of minutes either. He subbed in at 0:59 left in the third and left the game with 6:03 left in the fourth, for a total of 7:02 minutes. He was panting on the bench and looked plenty winded.

The kid needs some time and will get more minutes as he is ready. He was getting 19 in Jersey and has averaged 16 in this brand new system. That's not too bad.

Hayward played well guarding an allstar 2 / SG last night.

I need a breakdown. All I saw was Hayward getting lost in screens and Pierce shooting over him at will.

Bench Bell and CJ.

That's not enough. Buy them both out and release them. Tell Hayward the spot is his but he hasn't earned it yet. Threaten him to either improve or look to be replaced in the summer. He's the type that this will light a fire under rather than push him the other way.

Favors would have Al's back. Fesenko/Elson could cover Millsap's back on the second team. would seem to make perfect sense. does corbin have the guts to make millsap the 6th man?
