Cosmos - The Series

I was addressing the why not the should.

It looks like he challenged every major doctrine of the Catholic faith imaginable...after promising to uphold them at his ordination. Then he embraced the Mormon doctrine of "the plurality of eternal worlds."

How does this make him a martyr for "science?"

Umm pretty sure he predated the BOM.

You know, science isn't out to get you. Science isn't the boogey man. cept for maybe Skynet. Skynet is out to get you and is the booger man.

Who said he was?

Why would a science program devote 25 percent of its first episode to the persecution of someone who was not a scientist, was not accepted by scientists, and published no science, but was instead a martyr for magic?

Atheists couldn't resist using Bruno to slam religion.

Bruno existed before there was such a thing as a scientist. Everyone investigating the world back then was a philosopher.

If you actually watched the show, Tyson explained exactly why they chose Bruno.

Ahhh, well. That's the rub isn't.

Anyway, I just finished the 1st season. The episodes are rather dense, so I have to be in the mood to watch them....or rather, I want to be in the right mood to watch them.

The part of the episode that touched on Voyager 1 hurt my heart. Man. I got a little teary eyed on the forethought placed into that non-manned mission. I was also really moved by the Carl Sagan voice over towards the end.

Can't wait for season two.

Loved Cosmos. The original, ft. Carl Sagan in place of Tyson, is also good.
If you enjoyed Cosmos, the Startalk Radio podcast is def. something I'd recommend.
