Could Gobert eventually replace Favors in the Lineup?

Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors seem a little bit like tweeners.

Rudy Gobert is a true Center.

Derrick WIlliams is a tweener and he busted...

However Al Horford and Lebron can both be argued to be tweeners and they are both excel.

Some tweeners are so good they can play both positions, some tweeners are not good enough to play either. Gobert, Favors, Kanter whatever the future holds it sure as hell sounds better then Milsap and Al Jefferson.

Will it be unplayable? Will they become as good offensively and better defensively as okur/boozer was? Will they challenge Duncan/Robinson as one of the best frontcourts of all time?

If I had to guess right now it will probably be slightly worse offensively then Boozer/Okur and much better defensively.

Favors should be >>>>> than Gobert.
You guys have too high expectations for Gobert (Go-bear)

Appreciate your contribution bro, but we're talking about the future. We're trying to project his potential.

I'd rather take a true Center with huge defensive potential, over a shot blocking PF who doesn't have an offensive game.

Yep.

But Kanter has slimmed down significantly. He's getting better moving on his feet. Plus he has a PF game (solid back to basket game, improving face up game and already a very good spot up shooting game).

I really do think Kanter will abuse most PFs in this league offensively.

If it's a long-term question, I can't see why not.

But Favors is my second favorite player on the team, so I hope he stays healthy, continues to improve and meets our expectations.

Millsap was my 1st favorite player on the team 2 years ago. Doesn't mean he will win EVER us a Championship though, does it?

It's not a corner diary we're running here bro, it's a multi-million dollar operation.

Are you stupid?

Ughh... do I have to explain??

I was drawing a comparison between Favors & Millsap... Millsap was a fan favorite as well, a hard working guy who never complained and played 110% at all time. But it was painfully obvious that he's just too undersized to compete in this league as a PF and bring us any meaningful playoffs run.

Unless Favors develop any offensive game, I don't think he should be a part of our future.

Sorry for the stupid thing, I'm having a bad day.

But I didn't say anything about championship nor anything related with it. And I didn't say anything about Favors or another player being a championship material.

On the contrary, because of my love for Favors, I stated that I hope he continues to improve and stays healthy, so that he could be an important part of the team in the long term, hopefully in the path of a championship. If he becomes not worthy to stay in the team one day, then shoo him, I'm fine with that. I didn't want Millsap on the team either, even though I too liked him.

That's being said, I do believe Favors can contribute for a championship in the right system and the right team even without improving his offense much. But that's another subject to argue about.

Noo... that's not what I meant.

What I meant was I'd rather have Kanter play alongside Gobert fulltime from day 1 so that they can get their chemistry going. The last thing I want is for us to stunt Gobert's growth by having him play behind both Favors and Biedrins.

Unless some miracle happens and Favors developed a couple of go-to moves over the next few weeks - I still stand by my assessment that Kanter & Gobert is a better pairing for me.

Actually, I think Favors compliments Kanter's game better than Gobert ever will. I see Gobert as the first big off the bench ... at least for next couple of years.

This is a stupid thread right now.

I guarantee that if favors stays healthy then none of our back up bigs will have a shot in hell at taking his starting job.

He is better in offense than he gets credit for and he is better on defense than gobert right now.... favors is going to be averaging 3 blocks per game, probably a double double, and be in the running for most improved player, defensive player of the year, and will miss the all star game but not by much.

Gobert will not even be close to ready to take favors job by the end of the year

I loved Gobert's energy in the Summer League. A high energy/hustle guy who happens to be 7 feet tall is a rare find. Having said that I see Gobert as a Chris Anderson type - come off the bench and play hard 4-7 minutes at a stretch. Couple of blocks, couple of put backs and a few rebounds and I'll be thrilled.
