Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

I looked up the actual CBA language and now I'm not sure.

When I copy/pasted it to ChatGPT and asked the question I got this answer:

But here's the actual language (Article X Section 4), and I think ChatGPT was wrong:
Larry Bird sat out a year to play for Celtics
But did league change this loop hole

Goes both ways though, Ace can refuse to report holding the Jazz hostage for years.
How does that hold hold the jazz hostage. The jazz are very rich and will continue to play basketball. They’ll continue to draft players, trade for players and sign players in free agency. And they wouldn’t have to pay the 2025 #5 overall pick.

Ace misses out on 4 years of NBA basketball and $41MM over that time frame.

Wasting a full year of tank is costly.

Here's a great read about Ace's agent. An unlicensed agent that served 6 months for drug violations, has an attempted murder charge, and has weapon violations Fire that dude yesterday,
Who’s the fool though?

The fool or the one who follows the fool?

Ace and his family HIRED this agent.

If all you had to do was sit out a year to get out of a contract all of those draft and stash guys could be redrafted every year. That isn't the way any of this works.

It can’t, that would be chaos. Like you said, how is it a team has “rights” to a dude in Europe and they don’t just say “he’s draft eligible again”.

I mean all of this doesn't survive even a basic level of scrutiny, yet the 13 year old girls on this board are lapping it up. Be better!

Apparently he served 6 months for a cocaine conviction.

If that was in jail that would have really toughened him up.

He won’t be scared of us or anybody.
