I think most fans are feeling the same way you are right now especially when Givony couldnt get a straight answer from the agent PLUS the non-answer Ace gave at the post draft press conference/interview. (Not sire if you saw but it was pretty damning)
 
Pity there is no Locked on Jazz today. (Their slogan is “your team EVERYDAY”, but actually he takes the weekends off)

Would have been fun to see Locke do damage control on the Ace situation.

If the Jazz can prove this guy took money from a team to get Ace there, the Jazz can hold a loaded gun to their heads and pretty much get whatever the hell they want from them. If this is proven I would guess some serious rules have been broken and the alternative would be for league to take away multiple future 1sts from them. For example, the league made MInny forfeit the next 5 first rounders for them trying to circumvent salary cap rules with Joe Smith... this looks even more serious to me than that.

I listened carefully to the first part of Matt's vid, and I've read this quoted post. It all makes me feel that you have something more to share.


BTW, by my back-of-the-envelope calculation here, Omar sounds like a guy who could use one of those backhanded slaps to the nuts.

This is SPECULATION on my part. But if he was asking for money from teams for interviews, it's really not that far off a step from taking money from a team to guide Ace there. He just seems like a sleazeball who's taking advantage of a player and trying to get as much money as possible in the most stupid ways while he still has some sway with the player.

I think the lane is extremely wide open. He will get all the minutes, shots, touches, etc that he would get in washington but probably have more success in winning games in Utah.

Washington has Jordan Poole, Alex Sarr, Marcus Smart, Krish Middleton who might all want touches as well.

I mean either team is going to give him the rock a ton and play him a lot of minutes. The lane is wide open whenever you go to a team who sucked as bad as utah and washington did last year.

Sounds like Ace and his agent have no idea what they are doing and have fouled the whole process up
Sounds like his agent has done some very underhanded things
This is what happens when you hire someone with zero skill as an agent
Think Kanter hired his uncle who had no agent experience and it was downhill from there
Things seem to be getting worse as this whole thing develops

I don't see why there would be rules against paying players for workouts/interviews.
 
I remain pretty unconcerned by all of this. Ace is following Lauri and the Jazz on social media, he's telling AJ @ BYU he'll see him soon, etc. This all seems like delusions of grandeur from an unskilled agent who thinks he's Rich Paul, without any idea as to how Rich Paul actually moves.

Trying to pull one over on the Ainges seems like a bad life choice though.

They will come out. If half of it is true it’s just so simple. Omar is canvassing the teams for the best deal for him not Ace. He gives zero ****s about how hard he is screwing ace. If some real pros get around Ace I think Omar gets evicted.
