Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

I don't see why there would be rules against paying players for workouts/interviews.
Yeah... my guess is this money is not for Ace. This guy just seems like a typical AAU grifter dad who found his cash cow after failing to make his son into a legit player and now is trying to get as much money and power as possible while he still is in the good graces of Ace and his family.

They will come out. If half of it is true it’s just so simple. Omar is canvassing the teams for the best deal for him not Ace. He gives zero ****s about how hard he is screwing ace. If some real pros get around Ace I think Omar gets evicted.
Yep, this has the "if half true, then..." vibe written all over it. I hope this all ends up being a good early lesson for Ace, because this kinda **** won't stop coming at him.

So Ace is just a blind baby deer who didn't read any of the stories coming out the last weeks?

This is SPECULATION on my part. But if he was asking for money from teams for interviews, it's really not that far off a step from taking money from a team to guide Ace there. He just seems like a sleazeball who's taking advantage of a player and trying to get as much money as possible in the most stupid ways while he still has some sway with the player.
Wasn't the charge (I think from Gary Parrish) not that he was asking for money from teams for interviews, but that he was asking media for money for he himself (Cooper) to be interviewed on camera? Or have you heard differently?

I like what The Ringer had to say...
"Predraft reports suggested that Ace Bailey and his management were trying to maneuver themselves to one of three preferred destinations: Washington, New Orleans, or Brooklyn. Just three days ago, Bailey declined to work out for the Utah Jazz, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. And with a whole lot of chalky picks from no. 1 to no. 4, it seemed like Bailey might have gotten away with it. But Ace must have thought he was intimidating some other nepo baby executive. He must not have been familiar with Austin Ainge’s game. With the fifth pick, the new Jazz president of basketball operations Tommy Lee Jones’d the kid."
The rest of the article talks about him staying in Utah.

If this is true then we’re safe.

There’s no way Ace would turn up just cos his agent couldn't get the right ”deal”.

Where are his parents in all of this BTW?

Lets hope he is reading and seeing what's going on... also... keep in mind that he's been around this guy for like... half his life probably. Sometimes it's not that easy to break cycles of abuse ...

If Ace would just fire his agent and hire a legit one Jazz would bend over backwards to make him happy
Give it a couple weeks. This is a guy who was all in Aces life for multiple years. It’s seriously some grooming ****. Not just a guy you can fire and it’s over… I think firing the agent is on the table. I could also see him realizing the writing is on the wall and backing down. Which honestly is worse.

True but there was a second half of his post that you didn't address. And its all speculation of course.

Clutch is laughing their *** off about all of this.
Bartelstein would have got him where he wanted lol. But also Bartelstein would have likely been getting him drafted as high as possible to max his earnings.
