Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

Here I am leaving work at page 11 and when I get home (granted, a couple of beers later), we're at page 23.

What's the executive summary?

Andrew Witlieb, the President of GSE Worldwide said in an interview yesterday that Ace is thrilled to come to Utah and it was one of the best spots for him basketballwise.

GSE Worldwide is the talent agency that Ace and Omar Cooper hired. Witlieb said Ace and Omar primary motivation was to get him in a situation that is the best fit for him, and Utah was one of the best options.

Even this agency choice is bizarre. They mainly represent golfers. The only two NBA players they rep at Bub Carrington and Ace. Wonder if Omar chose them because they’re letting him be involved.

It’s so weird.

yikes. that's actually a little disturbing. at least they are legit professionals, but still.

I have been around high level prospects(in another sport) and I have seen the exact type of parent this guy seems to be. They are living their lives vicariously through their children and in the worse cases - they are using their kids to make themselves the center of attention and trying to monetize their relationships with the kid with the actual talent. I couldn't stand those people when I was around around them and I cannot stand watching them from afar, while they are ruining(or at the very least hampering) the careers of those prospects. I've seen a parent take his kid off the team because he didn't start a game and sending him in a much worse environment only to lash out against the coach and prove some sort of misguided point. I've seen parents making decisions about their kids future based almost exclusively based on who's going to give them the most money next month... and we are talking about 16-17 year olds here. The prospect has 15-20 year career in front of him and if everything goes right he will be making millions, but the dad has decided that having a couple thousand bucks now is more important to him than the kid being in the best situation for him. Those are leeches. At some point they stop being parents and they become something else entirely...

And here... this guy is not even the parent of Ace. He's just the dad of a AAU friend who somehow managed to attach himself to his camp and usurp decision-making privilleges. WTF...
