Could The Utes Possibly Have A Basketball Program Again?

Utes lose big, LOL.

But I think the Utah program is getting better. I see a lot of correlations to this year and year two with Gary Anderson at USU. You may not see a whole lot more wins in conference than last year, but at least you can tell that there is some improvement. Hopefully as the program gets better talent and the system installed, you continue to see more success. I hope that Utah fans finally have the opportunity to understand what the feeling of a winning basketball program is like... Damn, it feels good to be an Aggie.
Agreed. And really it can't get worse anyway. They can't suck forever, right?

But I do love the Salty mentality in here.

How much leeway do you guys think Larry K. will get at the U to try and turn this around? Ray was there only three years with the 1st being a sweet 16 appearance, then I think I remember his players quitting on him in year 3 and he was gone. Boylen was a disaster and got 4 years. I wonder how much time they are giving Larry to fix Boylens mess? Do you guys think he is the answer for long term coach or too soon to tell?

too soon to tell... K's offense needs to be able to put points on the board consistently first.

lol.

Um...

Simply put? NO.

the bigger issue is what happens after the Football program falls flat on its *** again in the fall? You won't win more than 2 of your first 7 Pac-12 games next year. Will Utah be seeking a new Football coach? What about DOCTOR Chris Hill's job security? Another year or so from now will Utah have a new AD, Football, and Basketball coaching staff? Obviously, you folks aren't competing at all in your conference.

Literally, the best you can hope for is to go 4-5 in Pac-12 play. Easily, I could see you folks losing all but 2, Washington St and Colorado.

Not so good Little Brother. Not so good.

Especially when your hoops program is a complete disaster and dead last in the Pac-12. Progression? Where? I thought you folks were adjusting to Pac-12 play? Was becoming the doormat aka Wyoming of the conference really what you had in mind?

Worth watching for sure. Solid game on both ends and some surprise standouts.

I think when we lost WhiskeyPriest, we lost 1/4 of the Utah basketball fans on this board.

Had to bump this thread after Utah managed to actually win a game in the conference tourny.

Obviously, Cal will probably throttle them next game, but it's nice to have such a young team get some extra experience by winning a game in the Pac12 tourny. Things looked improved early during their non-conference schedule, then looked awful for most of the Pac schedule, but then finished nicely with wins over both Oregon schools. Been an up and down year, but if you're a Ute fan, you've gotta like how the year is finishing up.

Either way, it's mid-March, BYU is sitting at home and Utah is still playing. It's nice to see things finally getting back to normal.
