Craziest Stat of Season So Far

Damn.

Hopefully Hood's diarrhea issues are behind him forever and he can shoot well over 30% consistently now.

Did they mean from 3 or from the field? Sounds too crazy that he only has to shoot 30% for this stat lol. David Locke said on his postgame podcast that Utah is 14-4 when he scores 13 or more points. If he can become more consistent we are pretty damn unstoppable, since Hayward and Hill seem to give us 40ish points combined every night.

Just the field.

Yeah there've been a lot of nights this season when the jump shots weren't falling. Games got really ugly then. I bet you can make similar stats for others as well. But I don't remember any game when we collectively bricked open jump shots, where Hood stood out and was good from deep.

So, if Hill would have been healthy all year and Rod just would have played as well as he did last year...............

Hood has had quite a few really bad games. But I like how Quin forced him to shoot. Snyder is truly a player's coach. NBA players are so talented. A lot of what separates good from great or average from good is what players have between their ears. When Hood misses a few shots he loses confidence. He's improved every year, though. That's a very positive sign.

Overall, I'm disappointed to see that Hood hasn't become a more consistent player at this point in his career. He's almost become like the Jazz version of Nick Young or JR Smith (without all of the off-court drama)...extremely streaky, either really bad or lights-out on offense, no in between.

Yeah I was hoping with a better offense we'd see a more consistent hood, but that hasn't been the case, obviously.

He's been consistent and being inconsistent

I think what the stat means is that when Hayward is not the ONLY scoring threat on the court making shots, our chances of winning go way up. Often has been the case that... when Hayward scores a lot it's because the court is more open due to other threats. When other guys are missing or just off, the court bogs down for Hayward. He has to shoot in volume to score the same points and we usually are in much tighter games there.

Also, this shows that our defense is capable of holding teams to low totals, but our offense often needs Hood and either Ingles or Lyles to stretch the floor and score. In particular they are needed come the 4th quarter.

I don't think it's a crazy stat...

**** no. He will be better than both those players. And more consistent. Quote me.

That's a horrific statement, bro. He's already doing **** that neither of those other players do, even when he isn't hitting shots. smh
