Cubs Official Thread - Dynasty in the making

It was a dominant performance for sure, that was a dicey moment though.

Very dicey. I found it funny that the broadcast booth was crying for McCutchen to get a hit on that ball hit hard on the ground and stopped by Addison Russell. Official scorers and even people in the broadcast booth are a little too forgiving in those situations IMO. It hit him in the glove and if he comes up with it cleanly then it is at the very least a FC. The official scorer was right in this instance, it was an error IMO.

Overall, good performance aided by some good defense for the most part and a bit of luck like any game like this.

Cardinals take game 1. Just couldn't get anything going off of Lackey. Even the mistakes he made ended up being outs. Tough way to start the series.

one and done!

Way to go Cubbies!

I think a message was sent to Cardinal Nation(players, fans, ownership, & employees), this Cubs team is ready to compete year in and out for the next 6-10 years at the very least. We lost game 1 and took it to them in the next 3. The talent we currently possess along with the talent we will be able to acquire with our payroll flexibility is a harbinger of bad news to come for the division and the NL in general.

I want the Cubs to win. If for nothing else other than making that guy who made Back to the Future look like Nostradamus.

Damn, Arietta actually lost? Doesn't look good for the Cubs. Mets pitching staff just too deep.
