Jeffrey32's Team:
Jrue Holiday / Ty Lawson
Paul George / Jordan Clarkson
Kawhi Leonard / Mike Dunleavy
Zach Randolph / Nikola Mirotic
Andre Drummond / Tristan Thompson
vs.
Framer's Team:
Jeff Teague / Ricky Rubio
Danny Green / Aaron Afflolo
Rudy Gay / Arron Gordon
LeMarcus Aldridge / Amir Johnson
Rudy Gobert / Robin Lopez
Framer's Case:
Defense
Let's be clear, my opponent's team is set to Bully the other team inside. When faced with a team with an average to weak
inside or rebounding presence, they would tend to dominate. Unfortunately for them, my team is NOT that team. They are
getting a solid 6'11 guy with the the 6th best rim protection percentage in the league, and an unholy demon from Hell who
would be licking his chops at the inside-outside imbalance of Jeff's team. There is simply not enough room for Drummond,
Randolph, and Leonard to operate inside while being hounded by the length of Gobert and Aldridge. If there is any foul
trouble, Robin Lopez doesn't suck and can provide needed minutes.
Now you may be thinking that "So what? the strength of Jeff's team lies in his swingmen." Yes, but take away the drive to
the inside and the front of the rim, Leonard becomes pretty one dimensional. He hates taking midrange shots. Additionally,
when he takes a three, it is almost always a corner three making it much easier to bother without the Spurs passing game to
open that shot for him.
Close off the middle, Leonard can be defended by Gay. If there is any problem at all, Afflalo is more than capable of taking
over the assignment.
Next, we have Paul George. Let's get something out of the way, Paul George tends to be overrated offensively and was
starting to degrade even before he hurt his leg.
I'm confident that Danny Green, one of the best wing defenders in the league, can stay in front of George, and limit his
effectiveness, especially as Green is backstopped pretty well by Gobert and Aldridge.
Also keep in mind that if any of my defenders get in foul trouble, I have Aaron Gordon in the wings.
Finally, we have Jrue Holiday. Understand that Jeff Teague is one of the best point guard defenders in the league.
As of the all star break, Teague was allowing an opposing field goal percentage of 38.4% which was better than fellow east
all stars:
John Wall: 42.4%
Kyle Lowry: 43.2%
Kyrie Irving: 44.7%
Teague is also elite at defending the small end of the pick and roll ties for 2nd among point guards.
Jrue Holiday isn't elite at pretty much anything.
Offense:
I probably have the best offensive spacing of any team in the tournament with obscenely great low, mid, and high options,
paired with a tremendous slasher AND an all star distributing and scoring point trained in the Spurs style.
Rudy Gobert. (8.4 pts, 9.5 reb) Has issues sometimes offensively, but he will be single covered by Andre Drummond in
space with an all star point to deliver him the ball. That isn't going to go well for Drummond who is mediocre in protecting
the rim. There will be no help for Drummond. Expect a lot of saluting.
LeMarcus Aldridge. (23.4 pts. 10.3 reb) Can't be defended without a double team by anyone else other than his
teammate. Who are you gonna leave in order to double Aldridge? Gobert, Gay, or Danny Green? Please, oh, please leave Danny
Green.
Rudy Gay. (21.1 pts, 5.9 reb) Simply an elite scorer. There is a chance that Leonard can hold him back, but not
totally, and it would take Leonard out of the rest of the defense. If you switch Leonard onto Aldridge, it makes things
harder for Aldridge (but only marginally) and it means you are defending Gay with Zach Randolph or Mike Dunleavy, Jr. Good
luck with that.
Here is what Gay does WITH Corbin and WITHOUT Corbin. Corbin will NOT be my coach:
Danny Green. (11.7 pts, 4.2 reb) Will get open with my spacing and WILL make you pay from three. Probably no better
option to have out at the three line in a high pressure game. Also, can get to the hoop. . .

Jeff Teague. (15.9 pts. 7asts) Runs the "Spurs type" offense better than anyone else in the League. Can pass, drive, and
shoot. There is not a chance in Hell that Jrue Holliday slows him down with the weapons he has at his disposal.
Also, hella lot of rebounding from this starting unit.
Jeff's team is good, but mine is better constructed with more current talent.
