He put up good stats losing, great still lost. He cant carry a team. Durant can.

Let's pretend the Thunder don't have another top 10 player in Westbrook and a guy you're currently molesting in another thread by the name of Ibaka. Yep, it's all Durant.

And CP3 has had crap players around him? Swap those two and Durant takes everyone of CP3 teams further.

Your saying Durant doesnt carry that team. How has the thunder played when Westbrook is out? If you think CP3 and Durant are in the same conversation then I am stumped and got nothing. Durant >>> CP3.

...

Every single coach and GM in the nba would disagree with you.

Every single coach and GM in the NBA would take Durant over CP3.

And I dont think any GM or Coach would say Durant doesnt carry his teams, and it is a fact CP3 has not carried his teams. He has not escaped the second round even when his team is favored.

I think you missed his point, by a lot.

Nobody is saying CP3 is better than Durant.

Look, basketball is a team sport, and crazy things happen. Acting like CP3 can't carry a team because of playoffs is ridiculous.

You're the type of person that believe Kevin Garnett was like that until he got to Boston and magically carried a team to the title. The playoffs are difficult, just look at Stockton and Malone.

Stockton and Malone won a lot of playoff series. They took their teams to the Finals, big difference. Garnett never had a supporting cast anywhere near CP3s teams and took the Twolves further.

CP3 has been on good teams, yes the playoffs are crazy but his teams have disappointed and under performed regularly. Winning isnt everything when it comes to an individual player but it needs to be looked at, not just their own stats. I get the feeling you are stats only guy.

CP3 is a good player but winning in the playoffs is what carrying your team is when it matters.

My only hold up is whether or not I think Durant will be healthy come the playoffs. I worry for him. I think he may have been in a "boot" for too long. If he is healthy I think OL's team smokes Siro's in 5.

Broncster, just stop. DWill has sucked for about four years now.

I agree, he has sucked since leaving Utah and CP3 is the better player.

But Dwil has won 4 of the last 5 times they have played since then on crappier teams. Dwill is 16-5 all time vs CP3. He just seems to beat him, he plays much harder against CP3 and puts up good stats usually.

Dirk and DWill are like 5 years past their prime, and by next playoffs, they're no more than role players. Wade is also quite old and has become inefficient. And Hibert pretty much sucked last year. I honestly don't see how his team is even going to defend against mine, and the entire offensive load is on Durant's shoulders.

Regardless of the result, I won't be participating in these competitions in the future since there is no point in putting the effort trying to build a good team. People just don't have the bball IQ to correctly evaluate the matchups, and will only look at the names.

Kinda how I feel too, tbh.

I dont think anyone is going off the names alone. People on this site watch plenty of basketball and have opinions more than "oooh that is a big name player."

Dirk and Dwill are 5 years past their prime. Dirk is not a role player this season. He just put up 21 and 10 in the postseason. Wade is getting older and put up 18 points a game in the postseason on .500 shooting. Yes he is a less efficient this season without Lebron, but is still a good player. Health is a concern but he can play through a 7 game series. Until the stats really drop off I dont buy it. Players get smarter in the league look at Spurs, never count them out when it matters.

Dwill is a bigger question mark. I have no idea how he is going to play this next season for Dallas. I could see him being terrible or I could see a bit of a resurgent season for him. He has been pouting and injured for so long its hard to tell what he is as a player.

Bogut and Harris combo is not a duo I like but they do compliment each other.

Korver is also old and coming off an injury as well, could be some question marks with a 35 year old player next season. Personally I think there is a chance that Kobe has a great comeback season. He is the biggest question mark. I still think if he is healthy (which is a big if) even less athletic he is still a top player in this league.

Dude neither of you are getting thru the next round anyway. You're crazy if you think you have one of the best teams. I love Paul, Thompson, and Korver offensively. Defensively ok. After those 3 your team falls off a cliff. Bogut's best year is behind him(that's coming from a Ute fan). Harris has potential but he's not ready to start on a playoff team. Kobe won't make it thru the season and even if he does meh. I like the Ilyasova/Mozgov pairing off the bench but I don't think Ellis and Thomas fit well personality wise. Those two will make a mess of your bench.

One love's team is too old to win it but Dirk as a number 2 option to Durant is still potent. Ditto Wade as a number 3. Srsly Miami is gunna be good this year, just watch. His bench has guys that play their roles and do it well with intensity. They have a well rounded set of skills giving OL's team more flexibility. Faried, Pierce, Gordon, Schroder, I think those dudes would have some srs chemistry. Durant if healthy pushes his team beyond yours but like I said I can't see him getting through the next round unless he gets a favorable match up, his starters are too old/beyond their prime.

Durant would destroy Korver. That is enough of a minus alone to end this one.

Are these polls based purely off of. 7 game series assumption or a series after an 82 game season?

It is how you think these players will perform next season, and which of the teams would win a 7 game series based on that analysis.

In other words just pick one out of your *** like most people do. Very little bball knowledge goes into these votes anyway.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
