Have you told Magic Johnson that?

Yeah, I did tell him that. He explained to me that his 1980 season was an outlier. Said something like "that should be clear to even the most casual observer" and mentioned a guy I never heard of named Kareem (apparently scored a lot of buckets).

He then asked me why I did not understand that most top teams have their core players in late 20s/ early 30s and rarely have a rookie PG in a key role.

Derrick Rose: 41 wins
John Stockton: 41 wins
Steve Nash: 40 wins
Isiah Thomas: 39 wins
Chris Paul: 38 wins
Jason Kidd: 36 wins
Steph Curry: 26 wins

Magic Johnson: 60 wins

I felt pretty humbled after he finished explaining all this to me.

Care to look at the rest of the data? Here is a list of other power teams led by rookie PGs.

Man I want to vote for that first squad its so fire but starting a rook at PG! Wtf

Did anyway, rest of team could make up for a trey burke even

To each his own. Its not really close for me, Durant is a better all around player.

Durant's stock is up due to his finals performance. But he plays on the Warriors. Kawhi is a more complete player, and is an amazing system player. He might be as good as Jordan in a couple of years.

Durant has been the second best player in the NBA for a long time. But yes being the best player on the court in the Finals with a bunch of super stars does drive up ones stock. I do like Kawhi though. I dont see him reaching Jordan level or even Lebron level, and not even Durants level.
