Danny thought DL Quin and Gobert all sucked so bad, especially Gobert and his contract. He felt Mitchell wasn't loyal and Conley couldn't cut it .... Thank you Ainge for getting rid of all of them ....

FWIW, I don't personally think waiting around for a disgruntled star is an amazing plan, but I believe this is the way DA sees it:

- He's all about building a championship team, and knows you need star players to do it.
- We've continually said that we don't want a long rebuild, meaning we're not going to rely on drafting and developing a star

I could be wrong about the first bullet point. Maybe DA is fine with just building a nice team that is a perennial playoff team. Potentially we think we can hit lightening in a bottle twice and find another Lauri situation where a good player turns in to an all star under Hardy. I think it's also possible that DA has more intel than us on situations where stars are going to become available in the near future.
