Dante Exum: shoulder injury

I don't get it. Exum will have 3 years of not even playing in the NBA due to injuries and people are willing to throw 10 million at him? Haven't we learned our lesson with Burks? LOL

Donovan in the 10 games so far looks better than Exum has his entire "nba career." I just don't get the delusional jazz fan

EDIT: I'm not saying you don't extend him either but 10 mill a year for 4 years for someone who averages more time at the rehab center than on the floor is outstanding to me

He's had 2 injuries and this second one was a freak accident. The delusional people are the ones labeling him injury prone at this point.

Also, if Burks stays healthy this year, he's easily worth what Utah is paying him. I guess some people just aren't very aware of what players around the league are getting paid nowadays.

How is it delusional to say he's injury prone.... when he actually is? He's 22 with soon to be 3 season long injuries. I'd love to hear what you or who you consider injury prone if he isn't.

Someone could make him an offer still. The Magic are pretty frustrated with Elfrid Payton at this point. The Spurs apparently like Exum and so do the Suns.

I was under the impression the Spurs liked him too. But I have no idea why I thought I had heard that. Do you remember?

Maybe we already have the combo guard we hoped for in Alec Burks. Not the defensive force Exum can be, but a helluva lot better offensively. Nothing says we can't go with Rubio, Alec, Rodney and Donovan in the backcourt. It's not like Dante has ever been a great PG. His "success" has really come as an off guard.

This ain't fair. Dante has never been allowed to run the team as a pg. Be fair.
Sure you can make the conclusion you think he would suck in that role, but don't pretend he has been given an opportunity to do so.

What talk have you heard? I haven't heard any talk of a big contract, only talk of extending him right around MLE level. The situation is such that if Utah wants to lock him into a 4 year, they are going to have to gamble somewhat that Dante will continue to develop. He could very easily be worth considerably more than 10M per in a year or two.
My comment was based upon the comment on the board saying his agent and Dante expect to get a big offer.

Hey am I clutching at straws with the thinking that no news is good news?

I remember when Alec was having his shoulder problems and we heard that he's taking "second opinion" from doctors across the country. It didn't end up well... several days later he had his surgery and missed the whole season. I wonder if Dante's contract status will have any effect on what he decides to do. From what I read, it seems like surgery gives you the best long-term prognosis, but will likely have him miss the entire season, while non-surgical rehabilitation might get him in play shape sooner but will increase the chances of re-injury in the future. If the Jazz and him agree to an extension it's probably best for both parties for him to get the surgery. If not - Dante will probably want to play this season and show he's worth a new contract in the summer.

An agent is going to say his player only deserves a small payday ???
I don't think I said that.
Agent could say nothing at all though.

Or say something like we are going to work with the jazz to try to get a deal done. Or we will try to get the best deal that we believe Dante deserves. Or any number of other things.
Didn't need to use the words big payday or whatever. (Tbh, I don't even remember the actual wording, just remember it being something like that)
