He’s back. Da’Sean Butler posted on his Twitter account Monday that he finally has been cleared for court work from the devastating knee injury that knocked him out of last season’s Final Four.

The Heat 2010 second-round pick has been undergoing his therapy in Miami, part of the agreement when he was released by the Heat at the end of training camp, still unable to play at that point.

By rule, Butler is a free agent, free to sign with the team of his choice.

Yes. Why? He's better than Bell. It's just too bad he wouldn't see any time on the floor due to Bell being a valuable... veteran.

Butler was a second round pick by the Heat last June, but was released by the team at the end of training camp as part of an agreement.

Miami guaranteed $300,000 for the 10-11 season and $394,000 for the 11-12 season.

The Heat would need to release a player to make room for Butler.

Sounds like the Heat still have his rights through next year.
 
I liked Butler watching him play last year. I'm not going to dig around to see what's accurate on his contract status, but I definitely see him as a role player in the league.

Wait, so the Heat just gave the guy money because they felt bad for him or something? That's pretty cool. It sounds like something more to do with reciprocity than that they have his rights. You paid me so now I owe you first shot in the event of my return - that's the assumption realgm is making.

yes, it sounds like they gave him a guaranteed deal and then waived him. he is now a free agent and still gets the money.
 
Is there some kind of contest to see how stupidly a name can be spelled? If so celebrities win with the incredibly stupid things they name their kids (Pilot Inspector? really, might as well be Inspector Fuzz), but this guys name is right up there.
