David Locke/Utah Jazz feature podcast

I haven't listened to a basketball game on the radio in at least 20 years so I've never heard Locke do play-by-play.

I wasn't aware people dis-liked him.

As far as his podcasts go, I catch about 75% of them.

I zone out sometimes when he gets in the weeds with the numbers; but otherwise I think he's a pretty straight shooter when it comes to The Jazz and player performance - for a company shill at least.

My complaint here is that, with all of the podcasting Locke does how the heck does he not have a better microphone for this interview. Sheesh.

FWIW - if you're a fan of the NBA at large at all (and I assume you are given you're visiting an NBA-related forum), I couldn't recommend the Dunc'd on podcast more. Its great for the morning commute - the hosts are really knowledgeable and watch a ton of games. They do a good job keeping up with general NBA consensus about player, teams, news, etc.

I'm saying hating a person because you don't like the way someone talks is asanine. That's the gist of people's problem with Locke. He's too excited? He thinks he's so smart (he kind of is though, sorry)? He's shrill? He talks too fast? These are not reasons to dislike a person, but they are reasons for me to think less of at least that person's ability to make judgments.

There are valid reasons to have serious misgivings about others, how excited they are or how they talk are not valid ones. Like, point blank.

I thought people don't like him for other reasons mainly:
1. 'Spokesperson' (secret) for the Jazz FO and coaching staff. Toes the company line.
2. That he develops close 'allegiances' with some players and not others.
3. Defends certain players e.g. Hood, while seemingly being very dim on others e.g. Exum
4. Sometimes appears to use data/analytics to reach a predetermined objective (sometimes)....

5. Forces his agenda on his listeners

6. Constant self promoter

7. The ads and promos... my god! He cant go 2 minutes without trying to sell me some ****.

8. His audio quality is terrible.

9. He breaks ZERO news.

Oh, I forgot, Locke likes the team and organization he covers and it's obvious. What a sack of ****.
