David Pick: Neto not nba player, Pleiss not a shooter

I never understand why people think a 23 year old is a finished product. Jason Kidd couldn't shoot for **** when he came into the league and he retired as the 3rd all time leader in three-point field goals made, ahead of sharpshooter Dale Ellis. If the player is willing to put in the work, it is very possible to improve at any aspect of the game.

Agree with most of the posts here, if both Neto and Pleis do come over, the first thing they should learn is that talent will only get them so far. As demonstrated by our own Paul Millsap and Wes Matthews as long as you keep working hard and keep learning, you can succeed.

I think that the recent development of DeMarre Carroll should show everybody that even veterans can continue to improve, get better and have upside.

Neto will learn how to shoot. Tony Parker wasn't a good shooter when he came into the league, either. He was younger than Neto but point is Neto can improve his shot.

News flash....Parker still isn't a good shooter. He can get by, is maybe a little below average, but he is a far sight from good.

Neto's willingness to drive and his creativity as a passer will both translate, even if his shot isn't where we'd like it to be. With that said, I've seen enough of him that I'm excited to see what he does after a whole year working with the Jazz developmental coaching staff.

Neto has played very well against NBA competetion in FIBA, and summer league. I'm not too butt hurt over this guys opinion.

I think Neto can develop into a solid back up for us. He is a pass first, creative, team player. I dont think
his shot is going to be as big a deal as it is for Burke. Trey looks to score a lot more than Neto.

Maybe the Jazz feel that even if they both spend all season getting solid reps in the D League, that they'll be better off than with their limited minutes with their respective Euro clubs.
