Help me with a debate between me and my friend. So the background is that the Jazz would get lucky and draft either Parker/Wiggins and then trade for Kevin Love(Kanter, Burks & GSW pick, other draft picks). Just assume Love will sign an extension with the Jazz.

Burke/Garrett/Neto
Hayward/Clark
Wiggins or Parker/M Williams
Love/Evans
Favors/Gobert

I voted before I read.

That team goes to the 2nd round in 1st year if it's Wiggins. If it Parker, we miss the playoffs because of defense.

Also the background of the debate is the lineup in the OP more talented than this years Wolves team?

Why would Love come here over Minnesota? If he won't stay there, he won't stay here, either.

I think that regardless of who we draft, this team is good enough to sneak in the playoffs.

Just look at how well they play on the road and rarely get blown out. It kinda feels like they are already mentally stronger than the Dwill/Booz team. They just got to learn how to close games out.

I think the team makes a big stride forward in player development. Its in the cards. They got this learning year out of the way and will be ready.

I predict a 45 win team.

Love would stay if we made 2nd round of the playoffs first year. He likes LA, but he wants the playoffs while being the man. In LA, he is either the man w/ no playoffs, or they make it with him and 2 other already established superstars. With Jazz, we have legit role players he could lean on to beef up his ego.

Love is not coming to Utah. He wants to win now not another 2-3 years. So the Jazz won't make that trade without a contract extension. Besides the bench on that team sucks. Jazz will compete for a low playoff spot and most likely miss the playoffs next year. I believe if Burke hadn't gotten hurt the Jazz would have won 30-32 wins this year. So they can certainly improve 10 games next year if they are healthy, who they draft or re-sign. It is way too early to project wins next year because there are too many unknowns.

Depends on who they get. If we get Wiggins or Parker we'll be 7-9 in the west, and have a great shot at making the playoffs.

The year after that 2-4.

A coaching change and another year of experience together adds 20 wins to this team as presently constituted, regardless of who they select in the draft.
