Dennis Lindsey called out Dante on 1280thezone

I kinda agree with this. When they drafted him so raw and hearing some of the early commentary on Dante from DL and Quin my impression was that there goal was to develop him and have him taking over the team 4-5 years down the line.

Again, I believe DL and Coach Q are playing the long game with Dante.

it was kind of a weird thing to hear, cause they sure weren't exercising any urgency to develop him during the season.

The Jazz wanted Exum to take control of the 2nd string PG position

Highly unlikely. Because if they did he would have actually received consistent minutes at backup PG at some point during the season and he never did. The only stretch of consistent minutes on the floor that he received all year was as the starter when Hill was out around the All Star break. And he played well. Then when Hill came back Dante went back to getting inconsistent minutes in an inconsistent role.

I don't think this is a work ethic thing. Or a mental thing. I think what's going on is that DL and Quin are constantly challenging Dante to improve. They have a tighter leash on him than other youngsters. You played well while Hill was out? Not good enough. Do better. Back to the bench. You missed this assignment, check out. I think they are pushing him hard to earn everything because they see his potential. Hopefully they're pushing the right buttons and it doesn't backfire.

Why would you want to afford a Bogut? Does he get you closer to beating Golden State?
I like making the team better, and yes.

Maybe in Quins eyes Dante wasn't ready for the backup spot. He did look too shaky at times, like he couldn't handle that role. We were also playing for playoff contention. Snyder seemingly did pull a Jerry Sloan/Corbin by not letting Ex go and play. Feel he couldn't of done any worse than Mack though, but hey, I'm just a fan and a spectator. Maybe Snyder had some logical reason to limiting Exums minutes this year.

Exum has those tools/attributes to become a good if not a great player. However some disappointing players do too. The difference is consistency and confidence.. He should be bringing it every night. Can he? At this point I doubt that, I mean after three years he still looks like an unpredictable puppy on the court. He's so quick and crafty and keeps showing flashes now and then that we can't write him off yet. Then there is the salary cap, every team needs players on rookie contracts that can contribute. So he has to make the best of this offseason. Dante should look at Hayward and Gobert, who benefited massively from their offseason workouts, and follow their examples.

- "competitive clarity"... that's how he described Rudy. He mentioned Rudy talking several years ago about how he's going to win championship with the Jazz, etc and how many of the things he said and seemed unbelievable, he's already achieved. He said Rudy is our ace in recruitment.

And this is why you DO NOT trade Rudy Gobert and "burn it to the ground" folks.

You just described mental things....

Bogut would go full Zaza on GS. Knock that mouth guard right out of Currys mouth (along with some teeth)!

I don't think anyone at GS would want to drive the ball into Bogut.

If I were Exum, I would really pi**ed about how the Jazz treated him for the last 3 years.
The Jazz has made sure that Dante developed very slowly by restricting his minutes on court and gave him the shortest leash possible (in comparison to other players). THe reason for doing this so that they can resign Dante A lot cheaper when his contract is expired.

If I were Dante, i would just stuff the jazz and it's stupid fans and go to another team where you would be appreciated. Dante Either ask for a trade or go to another team when the contracted is expired.

In other Ingles related news (dunno if anyone has posted it) his wife has retired from netball, yesterday i believe.
