"“Defense. Defense. Defense. I live and breathe defense right now,” Green said Monday after practice. “Offense just comes too easy for me.

“It always has, man. Confidence is everything in basketball. I just have a lot of confidence on that side, and now defensively I’m getting confidence.”

Coach Erik Spoelstra loves to hear Green talking that way. Green was never considered a defensive stalwart on any of his previous seven teams. But this season under Spoelstra’s encouragement, Green has become much more respected for it.

He’s coming off the bench on most nights and holding opponents — often the best scorers in the league — to 42.2 percent shooting, roughly 0.6 percent below their average.

“I’ve always felt I could play defense, but people used to always talk so bad about me defensively,” Green said. “This is the first team that honestly never talked crazy about my defense. It motivates me to go out there and want to do more.”

Not saying the guy is Kawhi but I'd rather sign him than have the Jazz pay $12,000,000 a season to Hill....

Wait he said he plays defense and his coach did too... He's not the defensive liability he was in PHX, but no thank you. Any newspaper clips about him losing his **** in the hotel lobby?

Dude was legit taking flakka. Crazy guy.

Evidently, flakka caused him to play better defense as it all went down at the beginning of last season. Maybe Boozer and Al Jefferson should try it. Jimmer could do it too and become an NBA-caliber player.

Any interest in Jeff Green. His rights got renounced today I think. He can play the 3 or 4 and can shoot okay.

I've come full circle and think I'd rather pay Dudley than what I think Deng and Hill will want. If George Hill won't renegotiate just give Dudley a two year $30 deal with second year 1-2M guaranteed. Not sure that'd get it done, but I don't think Deng will come off the bench and I don't think he's a good enough shooter to play a ton on the wing for us.

I'm switching back and forth between Twitter and Yahoos Vertical NBA podcast looking for Jazz news. So far nothing.

I hope you guys realize we HAVE to hit the salary floor of 84.6 Million. We have 56.5 Million in guaranteed contracts. There is absolutely no reason - barring signing an extension with Faves or Hill - to not go spending 20 Million on a one year deal with a guy that has potential to bring our bench to the next level.
