Jazz have 6 bigs on tap as is. They will go for a shooting 5 or roll as is IMO.

Leuer is interesting but redundant to Lyles IMO. Idk if I'd be willing to give Lyles minutes away to someone with a lower ceiling who does the same things as Lyles does.

Right at the time it happened I wasn't a huge fan of the Hill trade because I knew one of the two guys I liked in the draft would be there at #12. However, as I've had time to think about it, I've become a huge fan of the trade. Hill is a great fit on this team.

Then they drafted Bolomboy who - I realize I have my Jazz glasses on - but honestly I feel JB is a first round talent. I can't think of a 4 in the draft (other than maybe Simmons) that is clearly a better player than JB right now. There are guys who have more upside, of course, but put them on a court right now, he may not be better, but he's not worse. and the Jazz want to win now.

Johnson - never been a big fan, and at 35 he's older than dirt, but he's exactly what the Jazz needed - a 3/4 combo who can switch and can shoot the three and has done it consistently for 5+ years.

Johnson

That's a really good off-season even if nothing else gets done.
 
It will be interesting to see what happens next. Of the current guys who might be moved:

Ingles - free agent in 2017 restricted
Pleiss - free agent in 2018 restricted
Burke - free agent in 2017 restricted
Chris Johnson - free agent in 2017 unrestricted
Mack - free agent in 2017 unrestricted
Neto - free agent in 2018 - restricted
Withey - free agent in 2017 unrestricted

I think Withey will stay - he played well (when he actually played - mainly when Gobert was injured). CJ is gone. HOPEFULLY we trade Burke and Pleiss. I think we would keep Ingles unless another team was interested. And although Mack outplayed Neto, Neto has a great contract where he's a RFA. It was be surprising if we kept both Mack and Neto but perhaps they would keep Mack around to appease Hayward.
 
I like the JJ pick up. If anything he makes our bench better than last year. And just adding that should = more wins.

I assumed we'd have more coming in by way of picks or something with the outstanding details of the Hill trade, but I'm starting to wonder if we don't lose a player or two once that gets done.

FWIW, I'd love to pick up Gasol to back up Gobert. I like Withey, but Gasol would obviously be a great upgrade off the bench with instant offense.
 
Do the Jazz have enough cap left to make a run at Meyers Leonard that would force Portland to let him walk or **** them over?
 
I would love Gasol. That guy has heart and plays balls to the wall. Never understood why he wasn't liked in LA. I would sit any of our five to start him on our team.

Still 50, 60, maybe 70 free agents left
Still a long way to go to sign them all
Some will be out of jobs to rookies though
