Workouts

- We've done a lot of them
- Reason: Encouraged Walt Perrin to be more aggressive in bringing prospects in as we have a lot of slots to fill, good reception from agents and potential draftees

NBA Finals

- I was a wreck watching it
- Home team always has the advantage, and the Heat deserved the home court with how they played during the season
- Tony Parker, something's not right? Yes I think you're right. I read some quotes and clearly Tony's greatest trait is to get to full speed, and I don't think he ever pushed it and I'm sure he's a lot less than 100%
- But other guys were also injured
- "It's the Last Team Standing"
- Heat is the Champion and they deserved it

Draft

- Possibility of a move? Our plan is to be very aggressive in the draft in relation to moving up. We have the ability to do that as of today. The easier thing is to move back, which I'm open to do as well if the right players were presented to us.
- We really like where we're at.
- There are certain combinations where we're less excited about at #14 but if there's a worst case scenario we're OK at taking that.
- No future HOF at #14.
- Today we were debating a lot of combinations and players (at #14) with the coaches, coach Sloan was there, it was exciting to have him there. He had some good insights. Good work day.
- Very excited to make 27th June a great day for Utah Jazz.
- Question: What is KOC, Ty, Sloan has different players they want at #14 when we're on the clock??? What then???
- Well there's a chance of that! We all have our preferences. That scenario will play out. We'll keep the decision making close to the vest.
- Question: You have to be smarter in this market as it's harder to fix mistakes?
- New CBA helps us to be competitive. We're going to make mistakes. Hopefully you learn from them and mitigate them.

Free Agents

- We're trying to start looking at this.
- I haven't spent as much time on FA's
- But - aggressive asset accumulation is also important.

Jazz Needs at Draft

- athleticism, skill, humility, hardwork... these things makes them good prospects for Utah Jazz
- We don't want to give our "secrets" away
- If we have 2 propects that are similar - we may go with need
- then we have "great kid" and "questionable kid", but if "great kid" has health issue? What do we do? It's subjective.
- Have to also consider "upside" as well, and consider "risk" and what is acceptable and what's not. In that case it may be OK to take on that risk.
- Question: How do you balance out characters, risks, etc.
- It's where the "Art" side of it comes in.
- You get a kid in a "1 parent home" with not great situation/background.
- You may not rule him out, but it'll be something you'll have to deal with.

==================================

Note: I think they're talking about Schroeder & Bazz here in regard to character/upside/risk

I don't think they're scared to take on a real talent who may be has a "background".

I don't think they're scared to take on a real talent who may be has a "background".

Great work. I will rep later.

A couple of people have said this now about Schroeder - he needs a team that can nurture him and groom him into a "Man".

I do think Jazz is more patient than most in giving him that opportunity (if the talent is legit).

Interesting, the part he discusses character he included humility? I'm guessing he went through an excercise with the organization, including the Millers to come up with that. Maybe they are trying to avoid another Deron type departure, but I wonder if there has been a humble champion? Duncan , maybe?

Also noted that Lindsey has changed positions dramatically on character. A few weeks ago on his Friday interview he was talking about telling the organization that if you have two kids and one of them is fantastic and the other one of them isn't that you take the guy with better skills. I think he said "He may be a guy that you wouldn't want to eat dinner with"

Now it seems that he is promoting character much higher on the organizational value scale.

No I think he sort of prefaced the original question re: character by saying "These are the traits that a Jazz org. needs... "

But then to conclude, he said if you have a guy who has upside but has some "risks" attached attitude wise, you have to assess that risk, and determine whether it is manageable or workable to improve going forward.

I think the has left the door ajar there re: character...

This is stupid. I feel like I rep less then anyone on jazzfanz. The last time I reped anyone was on the 18th and it won't let me rep you. Our rep system bugs me!

Sorry kkk, and sorry mods for causing truble about our stupid rep system.

By the way good info thanks kkk.
