What's new

Deron is coming back to Utah.

Misleading headline. Billy King says he 'feels good' about Deron resigning. That's it.

That means about nothing. I feel good about the Jazz beating the Spurs. When I say I feel good, I mean that I hope that they beat the Spurs. It is about the same thing the King is saying.

I think there is a good chance he signs with Nets. I think Deron is more loyal than people give him credit for. I still think he would have resigned with us.

Where does Deron even got to go anyways. There arent really any attractive situations out there for him. Why go to Dallas and try to hitch yourself to Dirk'S career when its already almost over. Unless that guy can keep it up until he is 40. Although he might be able to. Dirk doesnt really rely on athleticism anyways. His other option is hooking up with Howard somehow, but Howard kind of screwed that all up.

I also heard that the Nets will have new black and white uni's. As miniscule as that is, it could weigh on his decision. Combine that with the new stadium, a supposedly committed owner, no where else to go , and a lot of money. You might just get Deron saying screw it, I guess Ill stay. Also add that to the fact that there is a lot of pressure to go back to Nets. He knows what they gave up for him, and how bad they will be screwed if he leaves.

Why go to Dallas? You mean besides the fact that it's his home town? Besides the fact that they won a championship, but are now short one key player. Besides the spectacular arena and the owner that loves the game? Besides the fact that Jason Kidd, one of the best point guards of all time, said he'd be happy to "back up Williams?"

You're right...no reason to sign there at all! :P

I think Deron would give the Jazz just what they need to contend for a championship within the next few years, but no way should he take ten million. There are a lot of teams that would pay him the max AND give him a good chance to win.

Dwill is just waiting to see if the Nets pick gets lucky and becomes #1 overall for Anthony Davis.

So, how many exes have you grovelled before? It's okay, you can tell us. You're among friends here.

I have never had a girlfriend before. Im still a virgin. ;)

Really though, whats wrong with being a fan of his game and having fond memories of his time here? I dont think he is coming back, but I wish he would.

In reality, this is basketball. Not the dating game.

Deron had to be traded because his presence on the team was becoming poisonous. The fans were more than correct to boo him, considering where the team would be right now had he not been traded.

The idea that he's just yearning to come back but won't because a few people booed him is quite along the lines of pining for ex girlfriends and whatnot.

I think the bridge would be repaired when he signs that contract and the lame Jazz fans realize he is going to make Kanter and Favors great.

I'm not concerned about the bridge between Deron and fans. I'm talking about the one between Deron and Gail Miller. The only way that bridge is repaired if he gets down on his knees and apologizes for running Sloan out of town.

It's not gonna happen.

I repeat. No way in h*** Gail Miller allows Deron Williams to come back to the Jazz.

I might be wrong, but I doubt it. (I don't know Gail, maybe she is a forgiving person. People say she's great, but I've heard she's through very sketchy and unverifiable sources that she resents Deron. For some reason, I believe these rumors.)

Besides, Deron hasn't been the same since he covered up his "No Guts No Glory" tatoos. He's doesn't play with the same heart he used to.

I agree with the trade and would rather have what we have now instead of him, but we wouldnt be that bad off.

We would still be in the playoffs, probably with a better seed and facing a watered down league with a better chance of contending this year than the team we have. With a good chance of him coming back.

This would be our most likely line up

Deron
Hayward
Josh Howard
Millsap
Jefferson

That wouldnt be a bad team. Especially since Hayward has turned into what he has.

All of this is based on assumption that Deron keeps his mouth shut and suddenly becomes a model citizen.

The problem with these LeBron, Melo, Howard, Williams situations is that the moment a star starts pouting, all long-term planning goes out the window. It becomes all about making moves right now to keep him happy. You can't ask him to wait 2 years so you can clear cap space, because he's a "fierce competitor" or "extremely driven" or whatever other euphemism for "unearned sense of entitlement" you want. Then you get Cleveland signing Jamison and Shaq's corpse, Magic and Arenas, Hedo being reacquired, Iverson to Nuggets, then Billups to Nuggets, etc.

Had Deron stayed, the Jazz FO would have been much more likely to pull some boneheaded move to get him "help now."
