I have two theories:

1. Sloan asked who was going to replace Boozer. Deron offered to get hurt and miss 20 games.

2. Ronnie P. asked Deron to fake the injury so he could get some playing time. Williams is a lot smarter than Agent Zero and doesn't want to lose $50K so he's keeping quiet and making the injury look legit.
