Derrick Favors dunk was a growing moment.

Kanter makes the steal and hustles down the court and then is immediately removed from the game. The dunk was awesome and it was nice to see Favors filled with emotion.
 
I love watching the reaction of some of the Spurs fans in the stands. It's like they think Bonner just got killed or something.
 
If Favors can ever just become a decent offensive player in the post, he will be an All-star, becasue he changes games with his defense and length. Even now, if he was getting like 35 minutes a night, he'd be averaging around 14 and 12 with around 3 blocks a game.
 
It was a highlight dunk... But a growing moment? It was a nice dunk. A growing moment will be when the Jazz can rely on him more in the post on offense.

Why does he need to be the one in the post. Hell let Kanter do that and run PNR with Favors. It utilizes the best of each of their talent.

There are innumerable other ways and a few that come to mind immediately that are more important than ogre ball.

You're telling me if he didn't crank it back and put a tad bit more emphasis on the dunk it wouldn't have like.... been a top 10 dunk of the year or so?
The dunks a lil overrated, just sayin.

You make a really good point in reference to favors, but i think kanter will be best in the post. Locke has made the point that the Jazz want Favors to be good in both the P&R as well as the post so that is why they are playing him in the post. of course, according to everyone in this community, Locke is merely a shill, but i don't believe that.

Yes, Favors needs to improve his mid range shots that would make him much more efficient and better at high post. Its this seasons shooting chart of Favors and obviously he is not doing so well at mid range;

But i dont get the obsession that he should play the post. He can do much better and profitable things than this as it already mentioned before at the posts above.
