Derrick Favors motor

I know it's blasphemy to speak ill of DFav, but the Laker game reminded me of my concerns about his effort. His motor was a concern when he was drafted and I'm worried its what's keeping him from averaging a double double.

For those that disagree.....

When was the last time he had a break away dunk?

Playing next to Gobert, and before that, Kanter, has kept him from averaging a double double. Few guys who average double/double also play next to dominant rebounders.

i agree with the OP about the whole breakaway dunk thing but really, from year 1 to now he has really improved. Look back at Lemarcus Aldredge (cant spell worth beans) and see his first few years.

on a unrelated note, anyone checked out the finely tuned motor the atlanta hawks are powerd by? milsap motors. but who cares bout that bro when we got favors to help continue the perpetual rebuild.

this is ridiculous. Favors had 18 points 9 rebounds in the laker game. People saying he is inconsistent or lacks motor are pretty off base. Is he karl Malone? No. But he is a damn good player, and does not seem lacking for motivation. If you want him to bark like a dog or yell "and1!!!" After every bucket, you are probably looking in the wrong place. But to say he has a bad motor is ridiculous. You don't have his averages if you are lazy in the nba.

lemme ask u dis bro. how many 'damn good players' those dis team have? lemme get an idea of what u consider dam good. cuz its all relative. even luke walton is a superstar compared to the average joe on da street, so lets get some perspective tbh.

Zero problems with Favors motor. Only thing is sometimes he just seems softer than a guy his size should. Just my two cents. Awesome player and dude. I can't believe the improvement he has made to his game. He had virtually no touch and finesse when he came into the league.

interestin. how many 'damn good' players would you say are on other teams (and there are MANY of those), that are more succeful? much more, rite? hmmm.
Four on Atlanta. But they have a lot better bench than we have, and their good players have a lot more experience

He's not quite as electric as I hoped hed be. He is a mellow guy who does makes some highlight plays, and puts up quiet numbers.
That's just who he is, and I have come to terms with it.

I would actually love to see him play angry for once - turn on a Super Saiyan mode if you will.

Agreed. Motor isn't his problem. Aggression is his "problem".
On those occasions when he is being aggressive it makes me ask where is this all the time. Don't get me wrong, love Favors and have long said he's one of the 2 best most consistent players on this team. But when he's aggressive he's the best player on the team and the team thrives on it.
