Derrick Favors motor

On those occasions when he is being aggressive it makes me ask where is this all the time. Don't get me wrong, love Favors and have long said he's one of the 2 best most consistent players on this team. But when he's aggressive he's the best player on the team and the team thrives on it.

I am waiting for that game with a starting Gobert...

Better things will happen when we are finally able to do more with Gobert in the offense than stick him at the elbow looking for cutters. If you zone the post when Gobert does this it makes things really tight for Favors to operate. We don't really have the three point shooters to make the other team pay for this behavior. We can attempt to play faster, but we saw during the Lakers game we may not be ready for that as a team as we turned the ball over A LOT. Our best option is to play stingy defense and score in transition like we did in the two games prior.

I guess the good part is that now teams are game planning for us, they feel like they need to throw a double at Favors. That is respect. It is also slowing him down a bit. . .

Zero problems with Favors motor. Only thing is sometimes he just seems softer than a guy his size should. Just my two cents. Awesome player and dude. I can't believe the improvement he has made to his game. He had virtually no touch and finesse when he came into the league.

His touch is one of the things I find so impressive. He was an awful finisher around the rim and has become one of the best finishers in the league, its a credit to his hard work and dedication.

i agree with the OP about the whole breakaway dunk thing but really, from year 1 to now he has really improved. Look back at Lemarcus Aldredge (cant spell worth beans) and see his first few years.

Technically you can spell "worth beans".

When favors was in college, I thought he was the next amare stoudemire. He is not electric like stoudemire was, but he is more of an all around player than stoudemire.

He also doesnt have Steve Nash and isn't surrounded by 4 shooters at all times.

Favors is our Tim Duncan. Great player but doesn't get all crazy on the court. I have no problem with Derrick...zero (well, except he needs to improve his FT shooting). He's improved every season. He's transformed himself into a true PF. That was a HUGE task and Lindsey commented on how surprised they were at his development in that area. Very good in the P&R and he now has a reliable mid-range J. I don't care if he doesn't go all Booker-like crazy after a dunk. Just give us the 16/8 and protect the rim along with Gobert.

dfavs attitude certainly changed last few years. He is more matured. questioning his motor is just stupid

No its not. I hear all of you and agree. He's improved his overall game so much, he plays good defense, and he's generally just an awesome member of the team. But that does not excuse what I've seen from him since he got here and what was the biggest concern with him coming out of the draft.

I'm not calling him a bum or asking him to be traded. I'm just wondering why he's not averaging a double double, like he said he would at the beginning of the season. I'm a season ticket holder, I go to all the games, I trust what I see.

It's also entirely possible I'm asking way too much, he's a 2-way player and committing to both ends can make it difficult to do everything every night. But there are players that do it. I'm hoping with Enes gone, Fav at the 4, and Rudy taking the pressure off, he'll average a double double from here on out. I don't think thats a lot to ask considering.

Dude isn't averaging a double double because he played next to ****ing Kanter and Gobert for an entire season. How many rebounds does Blake Griffin average? Herford? Millsap?

Tim Duncan, lol.

If he's as good as we all think and as he claims to be. He should average a double double. We need him to.

He is my fav player on the team, since he got traded here. I was also pissed at his attitude couple times(including dirk stole his ball and he didn't do any thing), but I bet that won't happen anymore. I also believe that he will average double double easily if he was playing with a small stretch four. He played with kanter and now..... gobert. Idk if he will if gobert grabs 13~14 rebounds a game lol
