Derrick Favors motor

No its not. I hear all of you and agree. He's improved his overall game so much, he plays good defense, and he's generally just an awesome member of the team. But that does not excuse what I've seen from him since he got here and what was the biggest concern with him coming out of the draft.

I'm not calling him a bum or asking him to be traded. I'm just wondering why he's not averaging a double double, like he said he would at the beginning of the season. I'm a season ticket holder, I go to all the games, I trust what I see.

It's also entirely possible I'm asking way too much, he's a 2-way player and committing to both ends can make it difficult to do everything every night. But there are players that do it. I'm hoping with Enes gone, Fav at the 4, and Rudy taking the pressure off, he'll average a double double from here on out. I don't think thats a lot to ask considering.

Dude isn't averaging a double double because he played next to ****ing Kanter and Gobert for an entire season. How many rebounds does Blake Griffin average? Herford? Millsap?

Favors is our Tim Duncan. Great player but doesn't get all crazy on the court. I have no problem with Derrick...zero (well, except he needs to improve his FT shooting). He's improved every season. He's transformed himself into a true PF. That was a HUGE task and Lindsey commented on how surprised they were at his development in that area. Very good in the P&R and he now has a reliable mid-range J. I don't care if he doesn't go all Booker-like crazy after a dunk. Just give us the 16/8 and protect the rim along with Gobert.

Tim Duncan, lol.

If he's as good as we all think and as he claims to be. He should average a double double. We need him to.

He is my fav player on the team, since he got traded here. I was also pissed at his attitude couple times(including dirk stole his ball and he didn't do any thing), but I bet that won't happen anymore. I also believe that he will average double double easily if he was playing with a small stretch four. He played with kanter and now..... gobert. Idk if he will if gobert grabs 13~14 rebounds a game lol

yeah, I addressed that.

Yes-- but then you repeatedly say that he should average a double double. Unfortunately for Derrick. Robert isa great rebounder as well. How many teams are there in the NBA where the 4 and the 5 both average >10rpg?

Very good point. Hopefully with Enes gone, Fav benefits from more Fav/Booker and Fav/Evans line ups.

I checked-- two NBA teams with two players averaging >10rpg

1) Chicago-- with Pau and Noah (Noah averaging 10.0, barely making the cut-off)
2) Detroit-- with Monroe and Drummond -- not largely surprising when considering that after Smith left, and before Jackson came, no-one on that team could really rebound.

As of right now there are 2 teams: Chicago (Gasol and Noah) and Detroit (Drummond and Monroe).

EDIT: New Orleans almost has 2, but Asik is at 9.8 RPG currently.

I just don't care for the metric of being a 20/10 player.

Give me defense, and give me a low amount of offensive rebounds given up from night to night. Who cares if the entire team averages 8 a game. In Lebron's 2 championships who averaged more than 10rpg? Is Bosh a low-motor player because he never broke 10rpg while in Miami?

What are you saying, exactly? Does it really matter which one of the Jazz guys gets the rebound? Is Favs less of a player because he has a good rebounder next to him? He will only be who he should be if he gets a double double every night?

Forgive me. I am not objective when it comes to Favors. Massive homer.

Keep in mind I have not asked Rudy to average 10+ RPG, and he's not.....yet.

Not asking for 20/10. Just dubs bruh.
