SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz never led in the fourth quarter and came up short in a back-and-forth game Friday night, falling to the New York Knicks 117-115 at Vivint Arena.

The turning point: Trailing 115-112 with 32 seconds remaining after two missed free throws by the Knicks, the Jazz missed three 3-point attempts on one possession and New York put the game away at the free-throw line.

The hero: Tim Hardaway Jr. had a game-high 31 points, five rebounds and three assists. Rudy Gobert had 23 points, 14 rebounds and three blocked shots in his first game after missing the last 15 games with a sprained PCL in his left knee and a bone bruise in his tibia.
