The Utah Jazz will be without both of their usual starting guards on Wednesday night against the Sacramento Kings.

The Jazz announced on Tuesday night that in addition to Donovan Mitchell still being out because of his sprained right ankle, Mike Conley will also miss the game because he re-aggravated a right hamstring injury that caused him to miss two weeks in February.

After Conley’s return to the lineup on Feb. 19 following the Feb. 5 injury, Utah was careful with managing him, as he did not play in back-to-backs between March 18 and April 7 (the Jazz didn’t have any back-to-back sets from the middle of March until early April), missing four additional games in all.

He then didn’t play on April 12 or April 17, both games that were part of back-to-back sets, although he was listed as having right knee soreness in the second game. He was listed as having that knee soreness for a few days after that but didn’t miss more games because of it.

Conley has now had multiple hamstring injuries in his two seasons with the Jazz. In addition to the one this season that has caused him to miss time, he missed 19 games last season because of one.

In 49 games this season (Utah has played 61), Conley is averaging 16.4 points, exactly six assists and 3.4 rebounds per contest.

Sacramento starting point guard De’Aaron Fox will also be out because he is in the NBA’s health and safety protocols.
