DL could beat this offer

"Update to potential Raps/Grizz trade: Deal would more likely send No. 37 with John Salmons to Memphis for Tayshaun Prince and No. 22 pick" --Steinline

Salmons has a $1mm buyout. Jazz could take Tayshaun outright and give them a better pick if they demand it.

Anyone interested in spending $7.8mm on the #22 pick?

didn't we buy #27 last year for $3Million?

EDIT: I think I see better now: this 7.8 would count against the salary floor, as money that would be spent anyway, which is different from the deal for Rudy.

There's a good player at 22, but given DL's talk about vets and less rookies, I don't see it as likely.

Much different draft this year, also the money gets to go toward salary for the cap, and you don't have to spend it somewhere else. That said, I think the Jazz can do much better than this.

As fans we'd all be giddy if they did this. It all depends on what our plans are with our cap space. If we are just going to roll it forward for more picks this is as good an offer as any. Take Capela and leave him... wherever he is for a year or two and let him develop. There are a lot of good international prospects in the late 1st early 2nd.

There is something to Capela btw... all the smart teams want him. Analytics love him. Is he similar to Giannis?

I had a very similar thought about all of this. The Jazz don't have anything better looming to use that cap on anyway.

Worth noting, once you have #22, you can package it with something else. Theoretically, obviously.

I'd rather have them pay $8.3 million in cap space for the 25th pick and bring Linsanity to Utah. At least he'd contribute something on the floor for a year.

But besides that, if the Jazz have a shot at picking up another draft pick by selling cap space, then this is a great year to do it. Get whatever you need to position yourself to draft your high player Gordon/Smart/Vonleh/etc. and then trade up as high as possible to grab another one. The more assets you have, the better.

We are not trading for wiggins. It's over. We need to go the Houston route and accumulate as many assets as possible and trade for a star when the time is right.

Srs impossible to tell where GS will be picking in 3 seasons. You stand retarded.

its "retarded" to assume they will be in the 20s, with a weak as **** east, a solid young core, and aspirations of obtaining more stars (love, and now rumors of pursuing lebron)... yet not-"retarded" to herald it as a prize?

conviction is there, i'll give you that. logic, gumption, and intellect are notably lacking.

Where were the Lakers picking three years ago? The Celtics?
