The whole theory behind the rebuild was based on pessimism. Jazz could have easily signed Millsap and Carroll and just found a free agent PG to replace Mo. Instead, DL was pessimistic about most of the team and the coach and wanted to start fresh.

Or the optimistic approach that they could make something much better. DL was optimistic he could find better players.
