do NOT bring back George Hill

Are the Jazz purposefully not bringing back George Hill so they can afford raises to other players(Ingles man... Ingles) and bring back Deron Williams?

2 months ago at the trade deadline:

It certainly feels like the Jazz are the "Call your bluff" team, forcing Camp Hill to find huge money elsewhere.

Might not be the worst thing in the world but I would not hinge my success on Williams and his bum joints (all of them) and declining skill set. If he would come in to come off the bench and we can still sign a young up-and-coming PG to really run the show, with D Will and Hood off the bench that could really be something. We wouldn't lose much in the 2nd team and have a veteran presence to help run things in crunch time as needed.

Id be down for that 4 yrs 80 mill deal, hes damn fine player just wish he'd give a discount to play here. If I was a player id give a discount to play with rudy

Ha. None of us would take the discount... maybe 1-2 M over a four year deal, but nothing meaningful. If it is us and we have 4/80 and BKN offers 4/100... Hill will leave.

I think we should keep him honestly... but none of us should expect any kind of discount or bargain price/

I would be down if we are able to sign Deron Williams. He might mentor Exum which would help (if he is ever gonna be something). And with Gobert in we would compensate his defensive liability. I doubt we would have cap space but resigning Millsap will also add us great value. Deron Hood Hayward Millsap Gobert is a certain contender lineup.

-Edit: George Hill isn't a 20 million per year guy. 15 max. It is his decision anyway. If he wants to stay in Utah he should give a good discount for us to afford other pieces. Or he doesnt care about more wins but more money, he can go to a low ranking team and be rich.-

Hill was great last night. I doubt we'd be able to go far with him taking up 20 million per, though. I agree that he's either going to have to take less money or play for a crappy team.

Although, I don't know San Antonio's money situation. Maybe they could pay him big money and win? They may be the sole exception.

His offense and shooting were pretty good last night and he hit big shots. His defense was meh to bad though.

I really don't know what team would be willing to sign a 31 year old point guard with a history of injuries to a massive deal.

I don't think those injuries have long term repercussions...the thumb, toe, concussion, thickness. It almost feels we are cursed with injuries. He will be fully healthy this offseason. But the Jazz should also look at other options with those 20M a year they are willing to offer

Favors's injuries are more serious for a big man (back, knee). For good as he is when healthy, I don't expect him to be back next year. It seems the experiment with Gobert/Favors together is dead. And Favors deserve more playing time, a bigger role than a backup C and a few minutes at PF. I don't think he would resign here, which means will have to trade him

Hill missed time while with Indiana too. Favors Is just another statistic on a player that had his career ruined by injuries.
