Lost all star Millsap for nothing. It was either Millsap or Favors. Neither was happy on the bench. And don't put this 100% on DL. If you go back and read the DN or Trib, there was a rift in the front office over rebuild or retool. Jazz were talking to Millsap, Carroll and Foye right up to the time the GS deal went down. DL won the rebuild argument over KOC, but it wasn't easy swinging the Miller vote, especially Gail, IIRC.
Minimizes value in Kanter. Seriously, how did he do that? He revealed he had been shopping Kanter since December...quietly. Then ENES and his agent kill his value with their public trade demand.
Wastes two picks on Trey. Yes, he did. Jazz had zero PG's; DL drafted need over BPA. Sometimes picks miss. Trey was a winner and leader in college.
Over works Alec into the injury. What? Alec had the injury when he was drafted and wanted to play through it. Jazz finally shut him down and made him get the surgery.
Drafts Lyles over Booker. Yes, he did. And since neither has played a single minute we can definitively say, ummm, what?
Looses Carrol. See the Millsap write-up. Also, look at DMC's stats when he played in Utah. Pretty vanilla. Would DMC have developed under Ty like he did under Quin in Atlanta? Not a snowball's chance in hell!
Whiffs on free agency. So he's not selling the farm to sign an over-priced FA and pushing one of the youngsters to the end of the bench. I think that says more about how strongly they believe in this group. A 53-win pace after the break, with Hayward sitting many games, no Burks and very little contribution from our PG's.
Man, im just saying, you know? Two sided my friends.
