Does anyone care about the Jazz taking out the Lakers for the 8th seed?

I hate to introduce a new topic aside from all the superman Hayward threads, but does anyone realize what the last three games do for the Jazz? Does anyone even know about the Jazz fighting for the 8th seed with the Lakers? This site should be filled with topics talkin' playoffs or not. You know there's a problem when fans are more concerned with who looks like coach Corbin (a recent post), than the jazz making the playoffs or not.
Why are we not coming together to push our team through? This is not the time to post pics of Hayward and Kanter and ask everyone in a post,,,,, "what's wrong with this picture?". This is a time to talk s$#@ about our competitor whether we believe it or not and push our team through regardless of what we said in the past. Lets support our team, if not to win, then for the lakers to lose.

Not sure if this is a trolling attempt, but this is one of the funniest post I've seen in quite a while. Rep'd.
 
The best part of making the playoff is the Lakers don't get in, but if we do get in, that means another year of Corbin and a worse draft pick. That's the question we need to answer. As much as I hate the Lakers, it's not enough to stomach another year of Corbin (hopefully, missing the playoffs will get him canned).

I really don't think missing the playoffs gets Corbin fired. I also don't think the worse draft pick matters much since it wouldn't be a big difference at this point.

Are you trying to tell me that the season is almost over and we are battlign the Lakers for the final playoff spot? No way. If that was true it'd be on ESPN, yahoo, realgm...or something. Stop making crap up.

One spot in the draft COULD make a huge difference.
say the jazz make the playoffs and draft 15th and the guy they really really wanted was taken at 14..... or whatever scenario

My point is that moving up just one spot MIGHT get the guy the jazz want.

is 1 spot worth getting al, foye, williams valuable playoff minutes about 4 games worth of 30-40 minutes per game?
is 1 spot worth favors getting 15mpg and burks 5mpg?

Unfortunately, you are probably right. But from the buzz going around -- not just on this site, but people on here mentioning people who work for the Jazz ticket sales, people are pretty irate about Corbin. Doesn't the Jazz FO consider this, let alone the horrible coaching. How can any knowledgeable basketball person tolerate his incompetence? Does Greg pull all the strings, and KOC has to jump to his marching orders?
 
I care. Basketball is all about winning, and that is what I want the team to do. Admittedly, I am a Jazz fan at least in part because I live in Utah and the ownership has the same beliefs that I do, but a large part of why i am a fan is because they would never tank games to get a high pick. They always try to win regardless of what it means to their draft status. If they tank, I stop watching. Simple as that.

I agree. Right now, making the playoffs would possibly mean the 17th pick (Milwaukee and Boston both have worse records than the 8th seed in the West). Missing the playoffs = 14, with a very remote chance of winning one of the lottery spots. Maybe 3 spots won't make much of a difference in terms of who we draft. Utah could probably move into the early teens of they need to by trading the 17th and the 21st (or wherever GS ends up). But it MIGHT have implications for Ty's future. At least I HOPE Greg, KOC and Lindsey are looking for justification to make a coaching change...taking a step back by missing the playoffs might be the excuse/impetus needed to get rid of Ty.

So right now, as much as it pains me (and that's A LOT!!!!), I'm cheering for the Lakers to win out, including a victory over the W's to help our 2nd draft pick.

I see where you are coming from. Now understand our side. We've been here before.
We've been one of the steadiest teams in the NBA since the late 80's.
Making the playoffs year after year has spoiled us. One piece of candy doesn't cut it.
We want the whole damn bag.

Nah is just mean moving up like 2 spots in the draft, Lakers getting in and Corbin next year.
 
The Blazers are really trying to help us out. They are up on the Lakers at the half. Damion Lillard. 25 points and 7 Asst. in the first half. And the Blazers are playing without Matthews, Batum, and Hickson.
 
Like some have said, no Kanter and possibly no Burks puts a damper on things. Watching 4 games of Alf ball against the Spurs like last year is not going to get anyones blood flowing. I'd prefer to get in but am pretty much indifferent.

Yes I know where we have been in the past, Ive been following for only about 23 years. So why is everyone so damn content with where we're at? WE HAVE BEEN AN GREAT TEAM FOR YEARS and now we are going to settle for less? From the team, from the management, from ourselves?
