What's new

Does anyone still like this team?

Let me just be clear on something. I’m not all about trading Mitchell unless we get exact value or Mitchell says he won’t play for this team, and I damn sure don’t want to trade a ****ing top 7 player in Gobert. especially since no one would give even close to his value. Hell teams have gotten so dumb, I’m sure there’s a few teams that would value him as high as someone like Bogey. Lol

I love Rudy...he's one of my favorite Jazzmen ever, but he's definitely not a top 7 player.

I took back my stance on Rudy when he actually owned up in his interview this week. You should try some of that humility stuff you type but don't comprehend.

And my comment you referred to about the game the other night was a basketball comment. Do you understand the difference between a personal attack and a basketball critique?
Saying somebody lacks humility is a basketball comment?

Thats why I took it back. I shouldnt have said it. I don't like making comments that are personal in nature.

It was probably the only non-basketball critique I have made on a player in years. Thanks for pointing it out and making it seem like I do it often.

Aren't you a gem...

What?

You didn't take it back because it was personal in nature. You took it back because you were factually incorrect about your complaint. Prior to me posting the link, you even said you needed a link before you'd be willing to own up to it.

Truthfully I don't really know or care how often you make attacks on players that are personal in nature. I just recalled you doing it two days prior, in a thread where you were calling out other people for doing it, while claiming you don't do it. And that was funny to me.

Can't trade mitchell just because espn guy says so. He has three years on his contract, and he won't become any less valuable if we trade him next summer instead of this one. If there is a Rudy Gobert trade that would allow us to do a quick retool around Mitchell, why not try. Unless a couple espn podcasts can turn the fanbase against Mitchell that easily, maybe we shouldn't even try. And we shouldn't bother ever having star players because the media will always say they are going to leave and the fanbase will panic. If we draft a guy who is a star again, it'll probably take five years, let's just trade him right away to maximize assets.

**** it let's just move the team.

Or you get a star and you do everything you can to maximize his time here and make it work, because you can only win with a star player in the nba and you won't get one very often. We give up Mitchell, we will be back in the post D-Will hell for five years. Just make sure you guys are ready for that.
My favorite narrative is “if x happens move the team”.

Donovan is not bigger than the franchise. We will be fine. We don’t have to rebuild but if you decide that you need to trade Rudy the pieces you put around Donovan likely aren’t anything as good as the teams he’s already had here. Being stagnant ends up in him asking out in 12 months (if he doesn’t this summer already).

Every team goes through rebuilding periods. Recognizing one is coming and fully embracing the rebuild gives it the best chance to be successful and will shorten the rebuild time. The mistake the Kings, Pacers, Magic, Hornets and others make is not fully bottoming out. Knicks always short cut it or never quite sink low enough either.

You could be the next Memphis, Cleveland, or maybe you are Dallas and spend one year tanking and get a transcendent talent after one year.

You just don’t want to be a second half of the lottery team… which is what we become if Rudy is traded for parts. Look at the west. Donovan and a bunch of good players isn’t going to be enough to get you in the tier with Phoenix, Memphis, Clips, healthy Denver… Dallas should be a little better… NO and Minnesota will be better… Portland will be retooled… the Kings will suck but they will try real hard. Lakers? Who knows… but point is the west about to get a lot tougher.

The biggest mistake post dwill was not tearing the whole thing down… that half assed retool spun our wheels for years. Sell off Harris, Jefferson, Millsap and bottom out for a couple years.

What?

I took it back because it was a personal comment and I was wrong.

You know that's called - personal responsibility. Look it up

You know, I'd have a lot more respect for you if you were able to own up to mistakes without spinning it in a way to put down the people who called you out for being wrong.

"Okay I was wrong, but at least I have the humility to admit it, unlike you" isn't the show of humility you think it is.
