What's new

Does anyone still like this team?

I think there’s an inherent tension in building a team’s entire defensive scheme around the performance of one guy that doesn’t seem to be particularly well-liked by his teammates. It’s just asking for bad feelings and finger pointing when the defense fails.

I like Rudy, but too much is riding on his performance for him to have the aloof personality that he does and for him to have teammates with the types of personalities that we have on the team.

It’s just asking for trouble. I’m ready to move on from just about everyone on the roster.

Seems completely untenable to bring most of this team back.

Right, defense should be built on a team concept, and Rudy should not be the focal point. If he cleans up for you, great, but expectations should be on team stops and team failures.

I have always enjoyed good, cohesive basketball with sets that create a lot of opportunities and defense that shores up holes. Maybe I am an outlier, but I'd prefer a good cohesive unit that maximizes a teams talent that loses due to lack of talent, vs the selfish crap the Jazz run even if they do win.

I see so much talent on this team, but no consistent team cohesiveness or accountability. I expect many stars to veer away from team concepts unless you have a strong personality like Pops to put that crap in check (worked w Kawhi for a long time anyway).

To me, at this point, it would be worse for the Jazz to make the finals than lose in the first round, because then management will think they are doing something right.

There is definitely offensive talent and depth to the roster right now. The problem is we have one rim protector and zero guys that can really play lock-down man-to-man defense.

Probably true, but we have a coach that plays those guys even if they play bad D. Without accountability, you can't really know how well those guys can defend.

I wish guys would just start saying how they really feel about teammates in postgame comments rather than taking veiled passive-aggressive shots at each other.

I would love to see us play Rudy and Whiteside at the same time, just for a couple of minutes. Say, when a team brings in their bench guys, keep Rudy out there and bring in Whiteside with him for 2-3 minutes. I would be interested to see what happens.

So you want the players on the team to tank their own trade value and make it extremely obvious to the entire NBA they have to be traded?

Yall scream for adjustments and something new and this is what you want?

Yes. For 2 to 3 minutes in one game. What the **** are you imagining, that I am clamoring for them to play 48 minutes together? Can you reading comprehension? Do you even english? We are shot anyway the rest of this season, odds are we are fixed in our spot. So I think it would be fun to see them on the floor one time for a couple of minutes.

Any amount of time outside of trying to grab an important FT rebound is heinous.

Pssh. Quit taking yourself so seriously. It's a game. They are sucking hard anyway. Might as well do something fun for the fans.

They are a playoff team with the #1 offense in the NBA. When healthy the starting lineup has one of the best net ratings in the NBA.

There's some stuff I'd like to see Quin emphasize more, but the Jazz should not be trying crazy things at this point.
