My boys and I saw Deron Williams at Wholefoods. I wondered if he lives here in the offseason? He looked superfit and chiseled.

It was good to see an old Jazz man and my boys were all googelee eyed looking at him. I didn't approach him, but when he saw my oldest drooling he came over and said what's up to my 5 year old. Made his day.

Deron is one of my all-time favorite Jazz players and no one knows the behind the scenes stuff that went down prior to Sloan's retirement and the trade. I love where the franchise is headed, but we were lucky to have him on the Jazz while we did. Great story, thanks for sharing.
 
I still like Deron. He seems like a pretty good dude, it's cool that he still has a house here.
I do think it was smart of the FO to trade him when they did and for what they got.
I hope he's healthy this year and has a good year.
 
His kids go to school here and they spend significant time here. His wife really likes the family-aspect of the state which is why they're still here.
 
I met Deron after a Thunder game in OKC. He couldn't have been nicer. Took photos, and was smiling.

Not a big ego guy at all, and very chill. At least on that occasion.
 
I always felt that one day Deron would finish out his career with the Jazz...I could still see that happening some day.
 
I guess all depends at what price he would be willing come back at. His play hasn't been up to his contract lately.
 
I'm a big Jazz homer, and probably think most players are actually better people then they actually are, but not Deron. For every 1 "good" Deron story out there with fans there are 20 "bad."

I've had a lot of interaction with Deron and he was the single biggest prick of any significant Jazz player I personally have ever been around in the last 15 years. I know a lot of people in and around the Jazz and they all felt the same way I do. Its sad because Deron is one of the few players that does stick around Utah when he doesn't have to.

The only way Deron ever comes back is if the Jazz new owners and new management, and if that happens the Jazz will most likely not be in Utah anymore.

Could you give examples of Deron's actions that make you think he's a prick? Did he not sign autographs for you? Cut in line at the grocery store? Not help a little old lady cross the street? Just curious...

I've seen him interact with fans hundreds of times, he seems put out more often then not. Refuses photos even with little kids in a small group.

I've seen him at the Jazz corporate events, and again he acts like he is soooo put out but just having to show his face. At things like leapin leaders he always seemed like the least genuine guy there.

He's not this HUGE jerk, I just think he seems like an arrogant, stuck up prick more often then not.

I saw him at a dance club in downtown salt lake (club bliss. R.i.p.)
He was mean muggin everyone and had his body guards in full force.

He wore this heavy *** parka the whole time (in a hot *** dance club) and generally just tried to look as hard as possible.

Seemed like a douche.

I met boozer and dee brown in club (lumpys) too and they were both way cool..... even did a chest bump to boozer.
