I don’t think the FO had any intention of trading him. I think it was all a let’s see what we could get after the Gobert lot we got. I think we offered way too high hoping a team would bite. Knowing full well chances were close to zero. I think the first response to this that they have no interest in trading Donovan was the truth. And this was a shot in the wind to see if they could get even more than they got for Gobert.

Nah, they're definitely going full re-build. It's not a matter of if he gets traded at this point but when. It's possible he's still on the team to start the season, maybe even until next offseason, but he will be traded eventually. No way they're going to build around a player that doesn't want to be here and is going to walk in 3 years when his contract is up.

I can’t see how he starts the season back here … for the past few seasons I’ve watched him drop his head and go through the motions at times , give minimal effort …

If they bring him back they risk his value falling and injury …

On the flip side if he turns up and plays and we are middle of the pack team , it’s just as bad for our own pick …

Then this will be DM in the new season.

The JAZZ believe in DM character he'll never James Harden lol. So they've set a really high bar for a trade because he has great character. I'm not suggesting they should've taken the Knicks last offer because it wasn't good enough. But why would anyone be ok with your best player, who clearly wants to be traded, playing through a rebuild with a 1st year head coach.

Yesterday I voted no... voted with my heart and not my head. Honestly, I think this drags into the season, probably until the trade deadline in Feb.

I kinda hope he does. Would be funny listening to him fumble and bumble through all of the questions + pretend he doesn't want out.
I suppose.part of me kinda wants him to stay cause then we’re in showcase mode where wins matter and I’m really curious what this mix of old and new can bring us, particularly with this hotshot babyfaced coach (I never cared for Snyder).

Then the other side of me hates the idea of guys like Beasley, Tucker, Fontechio, Bolmero, Kessler and Juzang missing out on valuable MAJOR development minutes. I know we got a couple real sleepers in thIs lot!
