Does Hayward have any trade value, you think?

I had, and still have a little promise in Gordon Hayward. He's a bluechipper. I don't think he is going to be anything more than a solid roleplayer in this league though, Mike Dunleavy Jr. I see that as his ceiling.

You know what I think? I think Gordon is too soft. I ain't saying that he should be a thug (That isn't even humanely possible), but after the Delonte scene where he basically got bullied, and didn't do anything about it to stand up for himself, I just don't see much promise in the kid. He seems to lose hope, is a lost cause once he goes on a slump.

Therefore, he must have trade value in this market. Someone out there probably would love to try and mold Gordon, and we have other valuable assets to include with Hayward.

What do you think we could get for Gordon? Would an Al/Hayward or Sap/Hayward combination land us anything that could turn the franchise toward the future any quicker? I see Corbin needing a wing that can score from anywhere on the floor to bail his team out when the times are getting bad.

I would look into acquiring Marcus Thornton, maybe. Before you go off on the "chucker" rant, Hayward shoots just about the same %'s that M.T does.
 
I would assume he has a lot of trade value. He gets a lot of praise around the league. I agree he needs to toughen up mentally, not because of the West incident, but because he seems to get on some really long shooting droughts that are all mental.
 
I don't know, I liked your idea about Burks running the team tonight, "Iverson-style", but I don't much care for the thought of getting rid of Hayward. Hayward is great at creating shots for other guys that move—the bad thing is, is that no one moves. There were about 5-6 plays that I saw in game 3 where Hayward got someone a wide open look and they missed the shot. That's 5-6 assists he should have gotten. That's 10-12 points that we should have scored (or more, because 2 of those were open looks for Harris at the 3-pt line). That's the difference in the game right there.

I'm all for trading anyone at this point except Hayward and Favors, and probably Burks and Kanter (just because he's still young and has a chance to get better by leaps and bounds this off-season).

Now, with that said, to answer your question, I bet Hayward would get you a pretty good player in return... Thornton? I would assume so, but ugh... I'd try to aim a little higher than him, especially if we're getting rid of a guy that creates like Hayward.

I still think we could get more promise from somebody else. Gordon has disappeared, yet again, like he has done countless amounts of times this season. You know for a sophomore that showed promise in the final weeks of his rookie season, he should have shaken off the growing pains by now. With this Jazz team, and the time he recieves, he should be averaging 4 points more than a whopping 11 points per game. Hell, RONNIE BREWER averaged as much as Gordon off hustle plays his sophomore season.

You all love mediocrity and think Hayward is the man for the mission, be my guest. I think we should explore the Hayward-value phase along with Al or Millsap. Favors needs to be moved into the starting lineup next season, that is a must.

30/30 teams would like to have Hayward on the roster right now regardless of potential so yes there would be a market for him. Don't see us making a deal with him though unless the package we send away is getting us a great return.

Excuse me, l'mask you somethin.. Where the hell did I put Jeff/Hayward for Marcus Thornton at? I separated paragraphs at that point. Quit trying to barter everyone into thinking Im such a lunatic.

I hope you all are right, maybe it isn't Gordon that needs to be moved, I believe it is Al Jefferson if anybody. By the way I said "Marcus Thornton, maybe."

You Jazzfanz have a knack for changing quotes, Wes Mantooth, for example. Go warship a cow, Wes. See some light in that matter.

That was crap as soon as you wrote it. You know that.

Several of us have been on here calling out ways to better this team for months and some of them for years. Do I think Hayward is "the man" no. I do think he is a very important part of this team.

As for you other points about Favors and what not well we never talked about that now did we?

Harden: 26.7 minutes, 43.6%, 34.9%, 84.3%, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.3 blocks, 1.29 turnovers, 2.52 personal fouls, 12.2 points
Hayward: 30.5 minutes, 45.6%, 34.6%, 83.2%, 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.6 blocks, 1.65 turnovers, 1.61 personal fouls, 11.8 points

Each of their second years there at basically the same age. Very interesting. Hayward's better in the majority of categories.

I like Thornton, but he just doesn't have the potential Hayward has and he isn't as good of a player even at this point. He is a good streak shooter who can really light it up. He is a chucker with no conscience and supreme confidence, which is what I wish Hayward had at times.

Separate parargraphs, and the swing of the "I would look into acquiring Marcus Thornton, maybe." rings bells of "Jefferson/Hayward" for Thornton? If you wanted to make me look like the total tool you should have also included the other player I mentioned in the paragraph before that, Millsap then, right?

Sorry found out something that happened in my personal life and I am in a very bad, aggressive mood. Uncalled for. I do think you are wrong in stating we want medicority. I think it can clearly be backed up.
