Does Lauri Get Traded?

Does Lauri Get Dealt Before The Season Starts?

Key thing for me is you talking about all the young guys with a lot of promise but no superstars. That’s what we need. I feel like we have guys that will be at or around what Markkanen are. But championships aren’t built around that. But the top 5-10 players. Trading Markkanen will bring us closer to that reality

I can't blame you for that reasoning. The key argument against it is, assuming you found your top 5, is the player must be willing to extend here after his second contract is up, hardly a given after watching top 20 players like Hayward walk and Mitchell get traded. If there is even slight doubt, the organization panics and trades him. If the team has created a losing culture from tanking, it's guaranteed the star walks. The only hope is to hit on multiple picks and have them grow together. Masterfully done by OKC, but incredibly challenging in reality.

The Homey theory of roster management is that you need three stud all star level players and then you can surround them with journeymen. It doesn't matter if the three stars are homegrown or acquired in free agency or trade. Lauri gives us one where do the other two come from?

There is at least some risk with that. More risk likely means less of an offer for us.
Maybe… and it’s part of the reason I’m guessing we keep him. Move him later if you need to. As long as he’s healthy I think his value goes up on an extension. He fits so many teams that there should be a team with enough assets that is willing to buy.

Only kind of risk is say Atlanta starts the season horribly or has injuries… that pick SA goes up in value quite a bit. Same with GS and their own pick. Say Steph gets hurt… not only would they be out for the year most likely but if they were in that pick would have a lot more value.

I have a feeling after few moves in the market, were going to have more rumors today about Lauri. They get many clicks, and content creators gotta live
Probably Monday when all the pods drop. Will be people mentioning it and getting aggregated.

I think the baseline of 3 picks and 3 super swaps plus a little extra isn’t enough. Like I imagine it was all the picks Sac could offer and Carter. Kings moved on.

My question is if GS says fine JK, Podz, Moody and all the picks if we still say no. Until they move on I think the door is still open but not sure that’s enough.

Did you hear the Tony Jones interview with (I think it was) a SF station Friday, I believe? He gave me the impression that Kuminga wasn't as high on the Jazz's wish list as many people seem to think he is. I'll see if I can find a link to the interview.

Yes jazz have their price. It just probably won’t be met

Here's the link to that Tony Jones interview where he downplays the Jazz's interest in Kuminga:

That’s interesting. So I wonder if they are just stringing them along or actually waiting for the Warriors to put Podz in the deal or to clear up the obligation to Washington or maybe looking for a third team that likes Kuminga and will offer something.
