Don Merino's Pizza

Out around 7000 South and State in Midvale. Has to be some of the best pizza in Utah. I like it better than the Pie and Este. I went in with some friends and ordered a slice and a drink ($3.75) and their "slice" is actually two huge slices so it's a great deal. Only downside is the wait is sometimes long (15 minutes) because they cook everything to order.

Blasphemy!

I thought so too when people were telling me it was the best pizza in Utah. I'm somewhat of a pizza snob and this is as close as it gets to NY pizza. To me, Este tastes like what you get at the average NY pizza joint, still really good, but DM's tastes like the really good NY pizza. Plus, the price makes it unbeatable.

It's also right next to the Underground which Gaza should play sometime ;)

I've never had pizza west of New Jersey in my life that didn't make me puke. Yes, that includes that overated crap in Chicago.

Sorry, but you people just have no clue.

There's tons of crappy pizza in New York too. Only a stuck up New Yorker would fail to realize that. Obviously I've never had anything that rivals Lombardi's in SoHo, though.

Hey, you guys have your cuisine weaknesses too. If you want bad Mexican or Polynesian food, New York or Boston are the places to be.

Hey McFly why don't you make like a tree.....and get outta here.

Thanks for the recommendation Marty. I'll be sure to give this place a try sometime.

No problem. Let me know what you think.

I'm a fan of supporting locally run mom and pop restaurants and that's what this is. Ever since my first time going, the people there have remembered me and been super nice.

True as ****. +6

And Marty, I will look into booking something there. If I haven't checked out this place by that time, I certainly will then. Este is the best pizza I've ever had. Ever notice how the cheese isn't greasy? Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

I really like Sicilia Pizza. It's over by Broadway Centre Theatre. It's a good place to eat if you're catching a movie there.

They also supply the free pizza at Planet Fitness (on the first Monday of every month).

Agree about Este, it's good stuff.

Gaza at the UG would be awesome. We haven't had any heavy bands there for a while but it's about time.

I've never had good Mexican food in NYC. I'm not sure I've ever even seen a Mexican restaurant there besides Chipotle, but obviously I don't live there.

I heard Wasatch Pizza is good.

I really like Litzas(saw Larry H Miller there after the Jazz lost to Miami when AK was called for that weak foul on Wade. Larry was pretty angry) and The Pie.
