What's new

Donatas Motiejunas measured 7-0 w/o shoes & 245 lbs

I think his touch off the glass is going to make his hook shots on the baseline practically automatic. I think his passing in the high post and his ability to hit 20-ft. jumpers make him ideal playing off of Favors or Jefferson. I think he has the ability to take a couple of dribbles when he has the ball out on the floor. He's just going to be tough to guard. He moves very well, and although he's not an above-the-rim type, if he works hard, he can be okay on defense and get his share of boards.

The NBA today is dominated by quick, skilled, long players. I think this guy fits that description. I think he's a better version of Okur, and I don't really think there's much Greg Monroe can do that Montiejunas cannot do.

He is the second-coming of Dirk with more of a post came. If he is there at #12, you take him, whether you have already taken Kanter or not.

So he's a lot like Fes?

I guess the similarities are there.

They're both white, 7 feet, and from the same planet.

But the differences are great.

One actually knows what a basketball is, one has actually worked out, one possesses athleticism, one actually knows what a basketball is, one has actually proven themselves internationally, one actually has potential...

I think I'd compare his game more to Okur than Nowitski, but that's hardly a damning comparison. A young, healthy Okur at 12 on a rookie-scale contract would be pretty awesome.
